  1. http://www.autoalliancegroup.com.au/anyauto/newsandreviews/65-lexus/2654-lexus-lfa-now-8-are-bound-for-australia-news.html Simple google champ.
  2. Lift it a tad and chuck some wheels on it when you get some cash, glad it's all coming together for you
  3. Still, pretty keen to be doing all this work for a car that realistically wouldnt be worth more than maybe 5k. How extensive of an engine rebuilt are you planning? I'm a Diesel Mechanic by trade, but am currently in the process of removing the 5S from my Camry and will be rebuilding with a 3S-GE head.
  4. I do, but it's a hard copy...check eBay. Put pics up then people can see the condition, do you know what an engine rebuild actually costs? Its quite expensive.
  5. As you guys know, being up at North Lakes is a fair hike, and getting up at 4:30 destroys me, plus with the engine removal/rebuild makes it harder. I will try to make it once or twice a month, until i have to travel to places like Rocklea and Wacol etc.
  6. Pulled the driveshafts out, now everything but the mounts is disconnected, engine an transmission ready to come out.

  8. was it a picture msg mate, if so no i cant recieve them :( did you see her? shes in a bad way now :( Yeah bud, i believe it lives on Taylors Rd in Gaythorne, it still looks good, needs a really good detail...
  9. Oi nutbag, did you get the txt i sent you a few weeks ago of your old beast?
  10. I think everyone needs to remember this should not be used for street use, its is for track use only. Everyone here is responsible and would never disable traction control/abs on the streets. :)
  11. Yeah, I know. Dont worry, the 5S isnt over yet. Also, do you want my dizzy? lol Possibly 3 pin or 4?
  12. There is no chance to a valve hitting the piston, its a non-interference design, of course it will be tested by hand first. I'm gunna go give him a hand before the meet tomorrow night. *edit* might be worth a look at the lifters too
  13. It could explain why you still had half a turn left on that stroke when the valve opened. I think you will just need to wing it and get the cams as close as possible.
  14. l'll most likely be there, either in the Falcon or Aurion, most likely the latter. Camry is off the road for a few months (yup, Andrew you missed out :P )
  15. Yeah dude exhaust valves definitely sound like they are open on the comp stroke. Did you get the scans of the 3S-GE manual i sent you?
  16. The thermostat being stuck open could potentially cause the overheating, by the fact that the coolant would not stay in the radiator long enough for heat dispersion to take effect.
  17. How's about you contribute or go to carsales and PAY for advertising...
  18. Very nice, good job resurrecting it from rice-ville. Looks tough
  19. Check the connection at the battery ie. cleanliness, terminals tight etc. Disconnect the positive cable at the amp, whack the multimeter straight from that to BARE metal, i can't stress that enough. If there is still a low voltage test the resistance in the power cable from the amp side of the fuse. Check all connections and at a last resort the cable may need replacing. For help with diagnosing post what figures you get at each point after each test, on here.
  20. I vote Brisbane this year, maybe somewhere around North Lakes, possibly at a Toyota dealer like Torque Toyota.
  21. I'm gunna somewhat disagree with the others here, i think water pump. As if a thermostat was the problem it would be a problem in the city not allowing water to travel through the radiator for the thermo fans to do their job. There is a possibility of a blocked radiator too. Its had to tell with minimal information though.
