  1. Forget the daytime running relay, those symptoms sound like a bad earth or a short.
  2. Pete, you really should be making ads lol, that is unreal.
  3. Get your mate to grab a workshop manual, most of them show engine and gearbox remove and replace.
  4. The reason i asked if you had touched it was because that sought of information can help to better fault diagnosis, the more info the better.
  5. I wouldn't say it would be too expensive, but in saying that I've never paid for it, I always do it myself.
  6. Ok that's a little surprising, so have you checked that fuse?
  7. Let me guess cigarette lighter as well? Try the engine bay fuse box, behind the battery and look for a fuse labelled "DOME". Never replace a fuse with a higher amperage, that size is there for a reason..
  8. Just bleed them and or change the fluid. A firm pedal but extensive travel is pads or adjustment. A spongy pedal with normal travel is air, bleed the brakes.
  9. Just wait til u get it and diagnose it, check compression, spark, fuel, etc. It's too hard to tell since u don't have the car yet.
  10. Its hard enough getting guys for a 1 day cruise let alone 2 months of cruising ;)
  11. Is that on the ground? Wow 4x4 :P
  12. Wait, Camry XLE? You're from the US right? Ok hmm, i am going to assume its the same, in ours there are two options the easy messy unsafe way or the hard clean and safe way. The easy way is inside the inner guard, and the hard way is through that rubber boot attached to the firewall(on the left hand side of the vehicle from the drivers seat) and down to the rear of the vehicle via the existing wiring paths. Now remember to run the rca speaker and other wires on the opposite side of the vehicle to the power cable. Hope that helps.
  13. I am not in the car industry, i work on heavy vehicles for defence. Saying that making an error is the same as robbing a bank is a little bit dramatic. All you need is to go in with a bit of motivation aka put a rocket up their **** and things can be achieved fairly easily. I am faily lucky though, my dealer is very good with warranty work and things that need to be fixed.
  14. Have you bothered to ring them and question or complain? If you haven't i'd suggest you do so before making comment hanging sh*t on a dealer, as your case MAY be an isolated incident. As mechanic myself(not for Toyota) i can tell you no one is perfect and everyone has a bad day every now and then, u just take it on the chin and deal with it as best as possible and with the people at fault.
  15. It has the 5S-FE right? So at the "rear" of the engine the leak could be cause by the 1. Sump 2. Valve Cover 3. Distributor(If the oil went high enough).
  16. Pro-Improved braking (less rotational weight) Con-Price
  17. Just don't do it, if anything, de-badge it. My 2c.
  18. i'm very disappointed, not like the original designs, really not feeling it
  19. Yes sorry i forgot to mention removed any rust, i did my fronts from new and rears after, and both are still fine, 12 months on
  20. Ahh i know this substance, it's called black paint But seriously i painted my rotors around the hub area, i just cut a template and sprayed them, any overspray will be wiped off with the pads. Just cut your template to allow that area to be painted and there goes your worries.
  21. I hope you have been covering the block to stop dirt and other crap falling in, also why did the head gasket fail, was the head tensioned down with the right sequence?
  22. Are they running out of things to watch on youtube these days?
