This is owner caused. No metal can resist sea salt for long without signs of corrosion. You will not be covered under any warranty in regards to this.
Repaint it and coat with lanolin or fish oil prior to use near salt.

was just wondering if anyone knew of any compatible chips for this model
This is not a thing.

It has been done once. The guy reverted the car back to stock and sold it from what I have been told.

You can pull the wheel off and have a look. Be sure to mark the wheel position in relation to the shaft.

Welcome.

Injector lines need to be undone at the top end and loosened at the bottom, if you need to remove the rocker cover.

You definitely don't want a big clutch/flywheel failure...

Check the globes. I'd be very surprised if they weren't all on the same circuit, given that is what's common.

I would service the auto, giving it a good flush.

Will be fine to block off.
It is just for the follower from a mechanical pump to run off the camshaft.

Still massively overpriced.

Agreed, but you can trust them more than mr john greenspoon smith from your suburban mechanic.
No, not necessarily.
You may have more avenues of complaint, but these centres often use many apprentices or mechanics willing to accept a low rate.

No. Get suitable points fitted.

It would likely be caused by a worn shock.
Pedders is generally an expensive option. I personally prefer KYB, but any reasonably good quality shock will be fine.

Welcome.

I went with an Opposite Lock step/towbar. You could sell your genuine one.
Alternatively, any fabrication shop can make one and you could get it powdercoated to suit your needs.

Is there a simple way for the non-mechanically minded like me to detect a cracked head Trent?
Unless you have a leakdown, compression or combustion gas tester, no. As I said it may not be the case. I would have a mechanic take a look.

The heads on these hate heat and do like to crack. May not be the case, but keep that in mind.
