  1. It can cause that. The bar will rarely need to be replaced. Please do not bump threads within a 48 hour period of the last post. Be patient, like everyone else.
  2. Probably from a model facelift. It will likely fit. Toyota talk strictly in factory terms, not modifications. You will need a panel beater to paint it anyway so that it is colour matched.
  3. You have read too far into my response. Standard is the hydraulic shock. The only other real option is hard to make legal and costly being airbags. Shocks are not going to minimise roll. Swaybars and springs will.
  4. A standard hydraulic shock will be fine. KYB or Monroe are two reliable brands to look at.
  5. Go to your local parts department and ask the question. Most will be happy to try and help.
  6. The shocks won't make much difference when it comes to the load handling, the springs will more beneficial to upgrade to a heavier duty if there is one available. This paired with a decent quality shock to reduce the bouncing, should be beneficial in your circumstances.
  7. They are often a contributing factor in the early failures.
  8. This thread is almost 6 years old and the member who last posted has not been active for over a year. Please look at post dates. If you wish to ask this question please create a new topic in the appropriate section. This thread is now closed.
  9. The inbuilt amplifier may not be as strong as the factory one. You can buy inline amplifiers fairly cheaply, but I can't comment on their effectiveness.
  10. I have read reports that it wallows about quite a bit.
  11. No one really knows for sure until Toyota announce/reveal the lineups.
  12. Post moved to correct section. The vehicle is well out of warranty on both kms and timeframe, so you won't have any luck unless you can prove a manufacturing defect. The 1KD-FTV engine is not the most reliable Toyota diesel engine and many have gone bang well before 170,000km. Do a Google search on the EGR, oil pick up and injector issues.
  13. Factory or aftermarket?
  14. I have to agree with Hiro, that's best bit!
  15. Toyota has used the the same size steering column through many years of production, so a generic Toyota boss kit may work.
  16. That recall was for grease in the motors, potentially causing fires.
  17. It would only be a case of dropping a couple of millimetres max.
  18. Has there been any work done to the car lately? Panel repairs or interior work?
  19. As above, it really isn't worthwhile.
  20. Honestly, you are probably better off purchasing a new, aftermarket head unit rather than trying to repair it. We have never experienced anything like that with ours, but it appears that the screen is starting to die.
  21. If you have experience in this area, then it is fairly straight forward. I would not try this if I was a beginner and this was my only source of transport. It can be done with the engine left in the car, but you may need to remove the engine mounts and transmission mounts to gain enough access. The engine will need to be supported by a jack or some other means. I won't be a fun job.
