  1. I didn't get paint protection, I don't mind doing all the work myself!! Although there is a damn sight more surface area on the Kluger to wax than my last few cars - the novelty could fast wear off <_< Thanks! Is there actually a calendar produced by the forum? DO we have to submit pics? Cheers
  2. My 2nd fill in the Kluger took only 59 litres, even though the trip computer was saying about 20km remaining. My KX-S AWD showed 11.6l/100km with 1 daughter and 4 noisy and off-tune friends, plus me, for a inter-school Touch Footy trip last Friday - that was doing just over 110km/hr by GPS (closer to 120 by the speedo).
  3. I used the round foam pads a couple of times, but now I just use a folded terry-towelling cloth (aka nappy) as I can put the wax on quicker with the larger surface area!
  4. Thanks Paul, I will put some in the gallery at some stage :) I find the Tech wax very easy to apply and then buff off. Seems much easier than the traditional polishes that I used to use. Does anyone remember Turtle Wax? Went on easy enough, but was a right ***** to buff off Cheers
  5. Well it was raining when I picked up the car new last Friday, but today I finally got to wash and wax it properly. I also treated the seat leather as mentioned in another Kluger thread. I like to use Meguiars Rich leather conditioner inside, and Meguiars Tech Wax outside. On the glass I use California Custom's M-Ron glass polish, and their Purple metal polish on the nudgebar and sidesteps... It all came up a treat, and the outside gloss is fantastic FWIW I have owned the Kluger 9 days, but already it's managed to rack up 1,000k's - lucky fuel is cheap! <_< Anyway I had to snap some pics in the front paddock before it got dirty again... Enjoy B)
  6. Good to hear mate - that initial treatment will be the hardest work. When you re-treat them next time it should be a lot quicker and easier
  7. I found these two comparison reviews, but there's not much else been done by the Aussie media... I think the Kluger is something of a quiet achiever and often gets overlooked (I know I nearly overlooked it when we were in the market... nearly bought a Territory!!! ) CX9, Tribecca, Kluger Dodge Nitro SXT, Ford Territory TX, Toyota Kluger KX-R, Holden Captiva CX Cheers!
  8. I just finished treating mine, and the leather was bloody thirsty! I'd say they would all be pretty dry from the factory, so if I were you I'd treat mine soon, and then every say 8 weeks after that? Seats came up beautifully with the Meguiar's Rich leather conditioner, but any non-greasy leather conditioner should do the trick B)
  9. I use Meguiars Rich leather cleaner/conditioner and wipes... I find the Kluger black leather shows up dust, shoe marks etc much easier than the lighter leather I had in the Forester <_<
  10. The Prado would definitely be better off-road than the Kluger, but that's not what we needed. I reckon the Kluger has more interior space than the Prado, is better appointed and cheaper! That what won us over :)
  11. The Meguiares NXT Generation Car Wash is great. It's not a waterless wash BK
  12. Cupholder?!! They are cupholders? I thought they were for all our mobile phones
  13. While the pearl white Kluger certainly looks good, out here 99.9% of all wagons and farm utes are white - so I went for something different (gotta stand out from the crowd somehow ;) )
  14. So far my dislikes are pretty minor... A-pillars seem huge, but I'll get used to them KX-S Audio and Vol knobs seem hard to grasp and turn (my farmer's fingers perhaps?) Bluetooth - having to choose which phone is active seems silly, it should be automatic 5-speed auto - the gap between 3 and 4th seems big, wonder why the Aurion 6-speed isn't used in the Kluger? Space maybe Odometer AND trip isn't displayed all the time, it's either trip or odo, not both Interior plastic seems to show up fingermarks easily for some reason Like I said all relatively minor, and far outweighed by my LIKES of the Kluger Cheers
  15. the 03-05 Forester that APG and I both had was the classic IMHO ;) They don't come much sexier than white and LOW... but that's all in the past now hey mate?
  16. I managed to finally get the keys back from my wife tonight, and it seems this LED light is always on when the key is turned on, regardless of whether the headlights are on or off? I covered the light over, and it's certainly dark without it as the dashboard lighting is quite subtle - so IMO definitely a good addition to the interior
  17. Pretty sure it comes on with the headlights and can't be disabled... I don't really know why it's needed as the SNOW, DAC etc. all light up at night anyway... but it's kinda cool B)
  18. I used the SNOW switch on the muddy lane last weekend, it certainly made the accelerator response doughier - I forgot to switch it off and did 20km or so on the tar and didn't notice any difference in the economy reading. BTW I used my first tank of fuel, and the cruising range was showing 12km left... the tank only took 61 litres, which meant there was another 11 or so litres remaining, which certainly would have gotten me more than 12km!! Does the accuracy of the trip computer improve over a few tanks? Cheers
  19. My dealer pointed out those map-lights to me, but he didn't know about the anti-rollback feature... Nor did he know what the SYNC button on the climate control was for It's nice to keep finding out new features of your car isn't it mate! :) Cheers
  20. I was just looking at mine today thinking the same thing - I fear the towball height will be too high for both my boat and the horsefloat... Figured I could just turn the tongue over, but obviously it's not going to be that easy <_< By-the-way welcome!! :)
  21. haha I have already emailed our friends at Whiteline about swaybars, but there's nothing available I will enjoy it as it is for as long as possible...
  22. It's a little annoying to have to manually select which phone is connected to the Bluetooth at any time. My Mits Triton, also with factory Bluetooth, will select whatever phone happens to be in the car when the engine is started... However the volume isn't half as good as the Kluger Bluetooth so I'll live with the manual phone selection :)
  23. Very VERY sexy Lib... Makes me miss my Subie :(
  24. Sounds like you were pretty lucky there mate, and not shopping for a new windscreen today! :) Hope the Novus repair lasts for you, coming into winter will certainly test out their workmanship... From what I have heard they do good work though Cheers
