  1. They dont look overly 'unique' or special to be worth the extra $$$
  2. Welcome & Congrats on the purchase, glad you like it cos obviously we do too! What mods are planned?
  3. Yeha you cant exactly just buy the Liberty scoops (aside from getting it from a dealer), because they are recessed and not 'bolt-on' as such so no one makes copies. You need to buy a bonnet with one or find a 'dismantler' like a Jap import shop who is willing to separate a GT bonnet & scoop. Im just lucky to have alot of Subaru mates from my last car :D
  4. Makes me wonder what you were searching for to find that....
  5. Update re: Liberty scoop. I've bought a Gen3 Legacy scoop (Liberty in Aus) the other one was a Gen2 & was too square, Gen 3 is much rounder & lower profile (but still visible) but not as deep/high as the current models....which is fine by me. Will be coming across when parents visit in mid-March & Ill get cracking on installing it.
  6. Parents own a newsagent so I used to read it a fair bit. Called the 'Dog & Lemon Guide' Its about 5-10cms thick, black cover with a picture of an Alfa. Its an annual publication so should have most up to date details on the Aurion but no long term problems. Covers all Aus & NZ cars & models, specs etc. Would probably be in a less-obvious position cos no one really buys it. Damn good book if your buying a used car.
  7. Re: P plates - you can buy the Vinyl stickers now...cant remember where...
  8. Looks hot. I agree though it needs lowering to set off the wheels even more. So you selling the stock rims or keeping?
  9. If you want to be noticed then they help. $500/year is a rip off though, its just money in the Governments pockets to 'fix roads'. the $160/year ones are reasonable depending on if you can afford it. Im pretty sure in NSW that you cant auction off standard & custom plates that follow the standard codes (ie: AAA.111, AA.11.AA, AAA.11.A etc.) But full custom ones (ie: all letters, all numbers or a mix thats out of the normal sequences) I think you can sell them.
  10. I think the Aurions look better without the big wing....but I've never liked big wings. Duck tail or lower wing would be good but the current range available isnt very attractive. Another thing to note too - if Sportivo's remove the wing you'll need a 3rd brakelight. I cant remember what the ATX/Presara/Prodigy 3rd light looks like but Im imagining it would be as easy as getting the ATX/Presara/Prodigy 3rd light & re-running the wires to the parcel shelf. Either that or make a custom one... ATX/Prodigy/Presara owners who want a wing will prob just have to splice the 3rd brake light wire thats there or completely unhook it & extend to the wing. Not as easy as bolt on & take off.
  11. Ay, dont steal my idea. Im getting it done....just tossing up 'when' due to lack of money. Re structural support: looked at it with the Forester, if you cut the skin of the bonnet, its ok. But if you cut the supports its a big no no, I think you can weld in extra supports though to pass an engineers? I was thinking of cutting out the support area of the donor car & somehow joining it onto the Aurion bonnet. Than again....if you do it neat/clean enough the cops will be none the wiser.
  12. Is that scoop a 'scoop' though? Looks kinda like the reverse vents everyones putting on skylines etc.
  13. I've always been sure that there are similarities between the Lexus sedans....panels gaps on the LS/GS models look the same as ours, general shape of rear bumper/boot area is very similar. I'd love to get some parts & do comparisons to see whether we can apply the Lexus mods to our range but they are quite $$$$$$ I had an idea of buying a front bumper with lip kit or bodykit to suit, then cut underneath the headlights on both AUrion & Lexus so the headlight piece attaches to the Lexus bottom half, then just fibreglass together. I can remember what model Lexus it was but the width & everything was almost spot on
  14. Already blackened headlights?? Keen to see those pics!
  15. I'd love to do wheels first but I've just bought (as in last week) 2 new tyres in the last minute to pass Rego. So its a bit of a waste to spend more money on them straight away. Alot of the work will be custom done by me or my brother...except some engine stuff may need help. I think Ill be doing small bodywork first...slowly doing more, then do lowering, then wheels, then engine...
  16. Giggity giggity....all riiiiiiiiiiiight. Looks hot as!
  17. Hey, I just realised no Newsagent down here stocks Autosalon mag....weird. Someone throw up a pic please!!!
  18. I know....but I dont even know what I want. Obviously want it to look different AND go well. Just dont know which ones I want first....sleeper style or all show no go.....
  19. Added coilovers even though they would be further down the track anyways, not essential and Prob just get springs anyways Dont want to get toooo specific with mods cos I want to make them unique....
  20. Ok, I've recently moved to WA & Brooke & I have just got our new house which needs to be furnished....so $$ is very tight for the moment & probably until later in the year. My pickle - not allowed to do mods until the house is set up. But im going to negotiate that & save weekly towards one mod at a time. BUT WHICH ONE!!! My ideas: 1) Body mods - involve a little painting, little custom body work. Probable cost = $1500-2000 2) Exhaust mods - including working n the squished pipe. BUT is slightly dependant on the bodywork too for the rear. Probable cost = $1500 3) Engine mods - quite extensive & also some basic...alot involved so wont be done for a while anyways. Probable cost = $2000 + 4) Wheels/tyres - 18 or 19"ers. Probable cost = $1500-2000 5) Coilovers - MAYBE, havent decided. $1500-2000 No interior or sound system mods wanted at the moment. Which ones first? Help?
