Hi All,

Noticed for the first time today when i went for the brake pedal was doing under 20kmph that i heard this reasonably loud grinding noise from the front end of my car.:blink:

Now at first i thought i was imagining noises due to all the other noises in my car and then at the next set of lights same result.

Mind you this only happens when im on the brakes to slow down.

Could it be that after only 23K km that the brakes have had it ?????

Have any of you guys changed the brakes already n at what k's ?

Cheers

Bill

I have had the noise but my brakes are fine. Stewarts brakes on the other hand cause his wheels to judder so we think the disk are warped...just like the driver. :P

During my 20k service.

they said i had 80% at the front and 90% at the rear left.

sounds right?

I have a rumble when coming to a stop from around 20kph (intermittent) and I also have the shudder (warped fromt discs).

There is a link to bigger brakes 1 or 2 pages back.

I'm currentley investigating a brake upgrade for the stivo (save for the $3500 systems),

and will post more info (incl prices and avail) soon.

The setup could be using celica discs (even thou they are 5 stud)

I'm aiming for a decent upgrade for less than $2k.

Ive had the calipers off, and there clean pads in there.....

I'm actullay thinking thr grumble in my front right may be a wheel bearing perhaps.

Doubt it would be a wheel bearing after 23000km, unless you've been doing a LOT of track driving...! :P

I covered 45k km so far and had 3 sets of brake pads.

Now I have to change front rotors (pay for it :( ).

Rear rotors were replaced 10K km ago under warranty.

Will now buy EBC Greenstuff pads - hope they last longer than stock (15k km)...

Ohh, I live in Poland, so the prices might differ. They cost AUD 140 per rotor + labor (don't know how much).
