From the Camry Owners manual(Page 10): If the remote control does not work, resynchronisation ma be required. To resynchronise the remote:

1.turn the ignition switch to "ON".

2.Press door lock/unlock button on the remote control.

3.Turn ignition switch to "LOCK" and remove key.

4.Test operation of RC.

If that doesn't work, see your Toyota dealer.

Hope That helps..

You'll most likely have to disconnect the central locking module to re set it... I can't remember how long for...

Try 15 - 20 seconds...

The module is usually located behind the glove box but if you can't find it, just disconnect the bettery for 15 - 20 secs and try programming the remote again with the 3 turns of the key...

As I understand it, Toyotas use a rolling code security system which means the code is changed each time the car is started/opened and if the remote loses sync with the car's system then it won't work, hence the procedure outlined in my previous post. The rolling code system is designed to prevent sitting nearby and obtaining your car's code using a remote scanner. If you have purchased a new RC then it will not be synchronised with the car and will not work.. If it still doesn't work you will have to take it to a dealer..

btw... i just purchased 2 extra remotes... the toyota rep told me you can have up to three remotes programed...

just that when you do the key to on two or three times you have to press the remote button simulationously... havent tried yet... still sitting in glove box

Program remote:

1) Turn the key to ACC (3 times , as quick as possible)

2) when you have done this right, the Security light will light up longer than usuall

3) press the remote button, if you have 2 remotes you need to press them one after each other. Otherwise one of them will not work. so do all key remotes in one procedure. If it is successfull I think the blinkers flash.

Turn off horn chirp:

1) Turn the key to ACC (3 times , as quick as possible)

2) when you have done this right, the Security light will light up longer than usuall

3) press horn. it should chirp or flash the blinkers

This worked on my 99 Conquest.

What do you mean 2 stage? as in when you press the remote onces it unlocks the drivers door only ?

If so then try this:

1) Turn the key to ACC (3 times , as quick as possible)

2) when you have done this right, the Security light will light up longer than usuall

3) press the electronic door lock button on the drivers side door.

Im pretty sure thats the procedure. If it works the blinkers should flash....

Hope that helps
