Thinking of buying and modifying a Paseo (Cynos)

Recommended Posts

Hey There,

Im thinking of selling my Present car and buying a Paseo and modifying it along the same lines.

I was just hoping if some experienced people could same thoughts on the modifying process of this car. ie: Whether the costs associated are as high as Calibra?

What is the max wheel size without rolling guards?

Is the engine good for tuning?

Is it difficult to source bodykits in Sydney?

Any really just the general pros and cons of this vehicle would be great,

Cheers,

Why the hell would you go backwards?

badboyz is right...and he always seems to be....even tho toyota cars can take a good beatin...the calibra has a more powerful engine (i think its a v6) thats alot more potential than a 1.8L...if u want to get a toyota i wld rec. one of the following...mr2, supra, celica, soarer or corrolla....good luck mate bt if it was between ur calibra and Paseo i wld stick with wat u got now!!

Paseo was a hairdressers' car in the 90's. Very very slow. No modifying potential.

pay no attention to this man ^^^^^

listen to this one \/\/\/\/\/\/

4efte??

A stock looking Paseo with a 4E-FTE would be a nice little sleeper.

i have a paseo with a EP82 starlet GT engine transplant, leather interior, 17's etc. they are easy to modify externally and you can pick up a EP82 halfcut for about 1700 which includes wiring aswell, get it installed for not that much and you're laughing. engine mods are easy, and aftermarket parts are getting cheaper and cheaper. it'll put many cars away dont you worry about that. take a look at austarletclub.com for more info.

cheers

Then you'd still look like a hairdresser, you would just be propelled by a warmish starlet engine... :P

(Sorry, just don't like paseo's. In highschool some loser had one with an unpainted fibreglass body kit with cracks and holes everywhere and I just wanted to torch the hunk of sh!t)

ROFL

To their credit, there are a few phat ones that hang around the Starlet crowd, but this guy already has a calibra. The Calibra's aren't 'that' bad. Decent car imo.

they did make a calibra with 4wd 2.0l turbo...

but then again you have got a celica gt4/wrx/lancer gsr for the same amount...

buy an s13... HEAPS of bodykits and wheels. decent motor too. (CA or SR)

Agreed. The SR20DE and DET are bloody awesome motors for the age that they are. They're still competitive to this day.

Mildly modded SR20DE runs about 15.0 flat easily down the quarter if the driver knows what they're doing.

This is proven as well. I know SR20's can box, as I hang around a few :P (much to the distast of some guys here hahahaha).
