As speeds and download sizes are increasing, you will find that not too many companies will offer an old plan with such low speed/download limits that will constitute no more than $35 a month.

Whatever you do...AVOID TELSTRA!!

If you don't want to spend that much, and don't want to download anything, I would go with Internode

$40 will get you 512kps speed with 5gb a month download limit. If you go over that limit, you are not charged - your speed will simply be limited to 128kps - which is still twice as fast as what you are on now.

They are based in Adelaide. You don't have to use credit cards, no contracts, and can pay in 3 month blocks if you so choose - which means you can just let the service expire at the end of what you have prepaid if you are not happy.

Good luck!

(PS - TPG are also good... they would have been my second recommendation)

Agreed. They've been trying to swing me off Transact for the last 3 years. They stopped calling when I masqueraded as a communications business the last time I was on the phone to them. I tried to sell network solutions to the girl over the phone and she hung up on me.

Telstra really have been performing poorly though. They lost a business tender with our national department a few years ago to Optus. They really can't provide decent service, no matter what the market is.

TPG gets my pick.

Good service, fast no drop outs

I am on ADSL2+... getting ~19mbit and 150gb for 70$ month

definitely would recommend TPG
