If i brought a presara...

would anyone wanna swap the woodgrain bits?

I'd be in the same boat as you.

I hate the crap woodgrain look. If the Presara didn't have it, I'd buy one hands down.

Lol,

I think Toyota should offer like a Brushed aluminium panels as an alternative for teh Presara, cause I agree with you, plastic woodgrain has gotta be the worst Luxury wannabe piece of poo ever...

you can buy a sort of "sticker" in any colour you want and stick it over those trim peices... the dealership where i bought my car had done it to their demo TRD with a carbon fibre looking sticker... turned out REALLY well... i couldnt even tell it was a sticker, i thought that it might have been an option for different door/dash trims.... :lol:

agreed, the wood grain panelling looks dedset attrocious, a throwback to the 80's if you may.

Exactly, i agree get rid of that sh*t, before it gives you a rash.

I reckon if ya chucked some purple velvet in, and some lino on the floor, you can pretend you in a dirty 80's porno. ha ha ha. noooooooooooooooot.

i cant decide on ZR6 or Presara. I'm going 2nd hand.

Presara + sportivo bodykit + color coding + paint woodgrain.

or

ZR6 with sunroof + auspack + HIDs

How different are the suspensions?

Desireables in the Presara are:

- Rain Sensing Wipers (am i that lazy?);

- Drivers seat memort (will be very advantageous as im sharing car with wife);

- Funky rear view mirror for night time;

- Auto tilt mirrors on reverse (could be handy);

- Toyota Link (meh);

- Rear power sunshade (wtf is that?)

- Factory HIDs (that are adaptive)

can anyone with a Presara comment on the features u dont get in the ZR6?

Posted

For the factory rear shades...

means there is a switch where the rear shades comes up... good for night driving as other car cant flash you from behind and during the day block outs the sun... wish they had that for the Prodigy model...

I own a Presara and had considered the ZR6 as well, in the end, it was all the added stuff that comes with the Presara that made the difference for me.

- Keyless entry and smart start options are very clever, no more fumbling for keys! Has also come in handy when doing grocery shopping and trying to open the boot.

- The keys can be tuned to the seat memory so the driver seat and mirrors automatically shifts into position when I open the door. This is especially good, because my wife is much shorter than me and I get all cramped up trying to get in!

- The Toyotalink is great for tracking your car and checking odometer reading. Had a bit of fun :lol: when my wife went to Melbourne and I was left in Sydney (see my previous thread)

- Auto wipers are cool, but lose the appeal after awhile, so I just leave it off.

- Auto lights are convenient and useful so I always have it set on auto.

- Rear power sunshade is great when showing off, but don't see any practical use.

- I like the rear view mirror auto-dim function. Nothing to write home about, but if it's there I might as well enjoy it.

- GPS takes a bit of time to understand how to use, but once you figure out POIs and routing it can be very handy. I don't think I could ever buy another car without GPS.

- Bluetooth for the mobile phone is almost essential as my wife and I change phones almost every year. I also like being able to store numbers and set speed dials from the dash.

- And last but not least, the rear reverse camera is a wonderful idea and has already come in useful on a few occasions.

all the stuff is for **** factor other than the keys tuned to the seat memory and the HIDs really, as the GPS and reverse camera can be added with the auspack unit.

Are all the features true to each year model? are there any differences in between the year models (2006/2007/2008)?

Ah suspension. Yes they can be quite different.

I picked Touring partially because of ride.

Plush and never harsh. The bumps are not sharply transmitted to you.

But after 2 weeks of driving I start to see the downside.

It feels floaty/bouncy/springy on bumpy roads.

Wonder if you can add gas shocker absorbers to the Sportivos and maybe get best of both worlds.

Having just lowered my SX6, I wouldn't change my new setup for the world. Looks 1000x better and I can take corners and roundabouts under power with ease, it has taken me a few days to see the fruits of my hard earned $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ but I can now see the difference.

im really sorry freddo, but i never really got into detail about it...

i'm assuming it'd be a film like tint...

something similar to contact paper i'd be guessing...

Take out keyless and auto lights, as they are standard on a Zr6. Plus I believe that Presara seats are more comfy?
