Beware the Hummer

Was speaking to my neighbour on the weekend and I had a laugh when he told me had had been busted for being on the mobile phone in the car. He admits he should not have been on the phone so no excuses really.

But the funny part was he was pulled over by a black Hummer (the Blue and Red lights between the big tooth grill were pretty cool in his rear vision mirror ). Apparently the Qld police have ordered 6 of these.

So be careful around Hummers.

I think its just getting to the point where they could be driving anything at all.

A good customer of mine is one of the head honcho's at the Alderley Police complex here in Brisbane. I got a bit of a guided tour a few years back when they were kitting out their brand new VE's (marked cars).

In the space of 15 mins, I saw everything from Aurions, VN Commodes, Honda Accord Euros etc etc. Hummers is certainly a new one, no doubt that will catch quite a few off guard. . . :o

Some of the Hummers are being used for riot/crowd control, particularly after-hours for alcohol-fuelled violence outbreaks. Suppose nothing sobers you up more than a 3-tonne black SUV revving it's engine and looking to run you down.

Reminds me of an episode of RENO911, where the goofballs after receiving a Hummer for their precinct spent a whole half hour episode attempting to get out of a tight parking spot then finally when free, they ran out of gas.
