hey guys! dont know if this topic has been covered or not!

but i bought my car when it had 43000, and now its reached 50000kms!

so i think its time for a service! there was one thing i was wondering, at what stage is a sportivo due for a major service?

because all im planning to do is a minor service! i thought i was at 50000kms but apparently its not! [a mate from ultratune told me]

also can anyone recommend oils? and the type - ie 15W-40 or 10W-40???

i had in mind to use Toyota oils and filters? or should i use valvoline/mobil/castrol/motul???

any info is much appreciated!

Your service manual should be able to tell you that but most often, cars are serviced according to mileage and not time.

When I had mine, mileage was around 52,000 but the car was already 5 years old. So I did a major service according to the log book schedule and item which was the 100,000 or 5 year service.

Pretty much did a full fluid flush and crap. Changed any filters I could and so on so forth.

Consult your service guide or users manual. Should be sufficient.

Try using 10W30 engine oil or if u are like me and love hitting LIFT at every corner then there is no harm going 10W40 which is a bit thicker. Castrol Edge 0W40 have been recommended for the 2ZZ-GE according to the Castrol Lube guide. Fuchs GTO or Mobil 1 are pretty popular with forum members too.

I can't remember if it was here but I choose my oil based on an oil test report that i think might be floating around sometime ago. Try doing a search. As for oil filter, any Toyota branded or Ryco oil filter is sufficient.

Hope that helps.

Cheers.

If it gives you any idea, I just had a 60k service on Monday, and it seemed very ho-hum (oil and filter, check everything else...), but it still cost me $269.85 from Oldmac Toyota Springwood. They cleaned my front brake pads and adjusted my clutch for free though. Mind you, when they adjusted my clutch it reduced the clutch chatter I get, but it's still not the rumoured TSB fix you hear about, n'or did they even know about that... :(

Cheers, Gav.

It's not too hard, I did a "major" service in my car in about four hours. Only thing I didn't change was timing belt (as it's only been around 5000kms since it was replaced)/

Hey bro if you want take your car to Bridgestone near Highpoint. They did my 60k service and wheel alignment (fitted some springs a couple of weeks earlier) for $88. I've been taking most my cars there for the last three years for odds and ends and they're pretty decent.

Oh yeah I saw you the other day going towards Milliera Road I was in my Sportivo! *waves*
