Fuel Filter

Simo

Recommended Posts

Its not that hard Simo, but getting the mechanic to do it is probably the best bet. Just make sure your fuel tank isnt full when you do it.

Basic steps are

- Remove back seat

- Pry open lid in middle of floor.

- Unclip the fuel pump, and unscrew the pump/filter unit.

- Remove unit, and look into the fuel tank and see what it looks like, any crap in the bottom is a bad thing.

- Replace new parts with old, dont forget o-rings and the other seals.

- Place unit back into tank, do up the screws, plug it all back in.

- Turn ignition to on, leave for a moment for the pump to prime, then start the bugger up.

Easy!

Remember to unscrew the fuel filler cap to release any build up vapour.

Just in case looking that this is located under the back seat inside the car. Won't want fuel fumes to linger around ............

Seeing how removing the filter allows direct access to the tank (ie you could put your hand in the fuel if you wanted), I dont think opening the filler cap will reduce the amount of fumes that enter the car....

yeah 2 b on the safe side ..... just install a return fuel system with surge tank in the boot to avoid the fumes in the back seat ;) ;) ;)
