hey mate yeah im not sure.....it does look the goods just the fact i hvent heard of the name before and the low price seems to good to be true.....a mate had the same brand in his car with the GPS function and he said the GPS was poor.....i dont think this one has it plus most ppl have navmans etc.....the other thing he mention is that it has a pretty crappy looking GUI but if thats the only bad part (GUI) that wouldnt bother me too much as long as it performed all its functions properly and was a pretty good resolution when playing DVD's etc.....maybe see if you can search some reviews on google etc........it could be like many other brands......ive got an old PALSONIC TV which internally is panasonic.....just branded different......n myuncle whos a mech bought afew really cheap inverter split system A/C no name brands as the compressor etc was actually hitachi and other good brand internals etc

good luck

If the US dollar was still good and you were after a unit on a real tight budget, that unit would be value. You get what you pay for though, but if your just after the basic functions of such a unit, you can't go wrong really. Just don't expect too much out of it. At least it looks fairly decent and its GUI ain't so bad.

LOL, you definitely notice a budget unit when the mode for the rear-view camera is labelled 'Back Sight'.

I have something similar to this in my car.

GUI is pretty ****, but everything works fine and the screen quality is very good.

I'd recommend you look at another one that has GPS and IPOD functionality.

Mine has the whole sha-bang and I paid AU$480.

cool cool, thanks for all the replies. i dont think ill find one with gps... too expensive for local headunit and overseas headunit with gps wouldnt work to well id saY? and i wouldnt use ipod adapter if it has usb slot. o well i might get this headunit only because it has all the functions im after at a pretty good price. if i find a branded product like this with all the functions im after im easily looking at $2k plus.

meh not a bad write up ....pretty much what i expected someone to state about it....if anything the removable small face bit if falling off may be annoying....i guess if not taken off from start it may remain tight to the unit and not drop off from wear etc

yeah nice find on the review. yeah i guess it is worth what you pay for. seems more the positives than negatiives. it works even if the face is off so might aswell leave it on. haha would the radio work for australia? i saw europe, japan, russia, usa1 and usa2 in the options but no australia? and when he says 227 shipped with all PayPal fees included, does that mean US dollars right?

On top of that, consider how much more ur car will be prone, to be broken into. :(

Was so tempted to get a decent sounds system and getting a bit desperate for one but the other side of me is trying to be cautious :spiteful:

Hi Andy,

I'd highly recommend Doug from Eastside Installs (http://eastsideinstalls.com.au/), you can get all the contact info from that site. I also have the same headunit and Doug installed for me just fine. However, because of the nature of the head unit it's going be sticking out a few centimetres so it can open properly for cd's to be put in/ejected. Installation price may vary but my system costed $375 for installation for head unit, front splits, rear coaxials, 2 amps and a subwoofer + he comes to your front door and does installation at your joint.

All in all the head unit has worked fine so far and it's probably been around 2 months. But back to answering your question, Doug is very pro! He even comes to your house! lol. Hope that helps. :)

Before I bought my Eonon, I've also asked for others and seen the review, good and bad ones all included. Including this one, http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=367843

Anyhow, I finally made up my mind to take a risk, since I'm too price sensitive. But it turns out to me that their unit is very good and a month until now, no problem occured. Hope it will last long! Anyhow, their service is satisfying to me. Mine is this one E1052, which only fit my Toyota Camry.
