INFO: I used to play wow and i quite around septemeber last year for a few reasons [1]i was addicted [2] HSC. I have finished my hsc and currently oign a networkign course at ultimo tafe. The guys in my class are a top bunch and most of them play wow and a few ive even met ingame b4 tafe. After receiving a 10day free trial pass for the new xpansion from blizzard the WoW itch has returned and i have an urge to play constantly.

Question: Should i recharge my wow account and start playing again since i only goto tafe 4days a week or should i try to fight the urges?

i would fight the urges, not that its bad to play the game. its just not that healthy to {RISK} playing that again to an addicting level. my boyfriend's brother was addicted to it and his girlfriend broke up with him cos he only ever payed attention to that game, now that is sad

Instead of paying to stay at home more, get paid to stay away from home more - As in a job.

If you are going to Tafe 4 days, that leaves 3 days + 5 Nights to work, and still leaves you Fri/Sat night to go out/play games.

better then being adicted to pokies.

my solution is to not goto pubs or rsl's.

it worked for me.

i never ever played WOW as i get addicted to everything and it is too much of a addicting game for me to try to play.

plus i prefer to touch boobies instead of a keyboard all night.

Give it up man honestly. i know a few people well into their 20's who still play WOW every day and it is really sad.

one of my friends said "ill never be addicted to wow" and went to uni and such, once he touched the expansion, he deferred from uni and only have 1 shift a week (3 hours maximum/minimum) and practically lives on that computer chair. and does want to go clubbing, meets, dinner, party or anything, something really sad was he spent new years on wow.... whilst i was out with the friends.

AR - never think that you wont get that bad either.

i said i would never be addicted to cigarettes - EPIC FAIL

i said i would never be addicted to pokies - FAIL but now cured

i said i would never be addicted to drugs / and or alcohol - FAIL but now better. being in love and caring changed all those problems.

it is easy to imagion that you wont get addicted but it is easier to fall into the trap.

instead of spending the money on WOW, buy some weights and start working out, it will build up your self confidence and you will feel better about yourself and it will be a little easier for you to get some fur. and in the spare time that you are thinking about playing WOW, do the weights.

i am not flaming you man, i am trying to help, i have had addictions in the past and i know how hard they are to kerb.

Good luck with it all man.

p.s i dont know about you but with me i either have it all or none of it. if u can try to limit the amount of time you spend playing. but if that is difficult in any way just give it up. dont keep telling yourself 5 minutes more than relize it is 3am and you have tafe at 8 in the monring.

No idea what wow is but when I was your age (before the internet) hard earned cash was spent on only one of two things toys (cars, bikes, boats and bits for cars, bikes and boats) and going out to "sink beer and chase chicks" (no offense to any female members, we weren't very politically correct back then either). Seriously there are a lot more worthwhile things you can spend your time and money on that don't zap your energy and numb your mind

Don't do it dude... I'm sorry to say this, but I doubt your ability to stay away from it during important times. This isn't a personal slur - I have a similar problem. When it is the night before an exam/essay is due, you will find I log onto tocau (and various other sites I'm a part of) much more than usual - simply to take my mind away from that Word document in the background. I inevitably start doing the study when the fear kicks in - and as I get older that threshold doesn't kick in for much longer than it used to...

If you want a personal example, I know of a guy who missed 2 exams (on the same day) due to WoW. He slept in for the first one due to a hard night's gaming, and proceeded to play more WoW when he woke up. When his friend rang him on the way into the second exam, he simply said he didn't have enough time to make it there - and kept playing.

Holy CRAP!!!

I study the networking course at ULTIMO tafe too! I really should get around to posting my picks of my new ZRE and introduce myself :P

WoW nearly cost me my degree, I was so hooked.I've stopped since. But, now that im changing career to IT I find my marks are alot better since I stopped play :)

I think you need to listen to those in the know and combine their wisdom an example is Spillage and Blind Kid Seeks

get tanked,
touch a girl

Together the two of them have the solution to your problem
