hi guys, im about to purchase some new 17" rims and would like your opinion.

posted below is my current car- stock, theres nothing added to it since the picture was taken last october (except 5% shade tints)

as well as the rims im thinking of getting- 205x40x17 RSGT Black with diamond back tyres (which i heard are very crap)

they're going to cost me about $1300. and then to drop the car, $400 on top. @ BigOTyres @ Moorebank, Sydney.

your thoughts please?

thanks in advance.

UPDATE: i'll be getting the rims tmrw with 215x40x17 Falken329 tyres.

apparently the 326 are completely ****. the guy highly recommended me this so thats what i'll be getting.

You should think about getting some better tyres.......$1300 sounds a bit too much to me with those tyres.

why bother if the tyres are rubbish. tyres only thing contact your car to the road, more important than anything.

his going to charge me extra (i dont know how much)

but i'll be asking for either nankang or hankook perhaps.

he might make it cheapher cause i went with my mate a few days ago and he bought

RPM VEGAS BLACK DEEP DISHED 19x8.5 front & 19x9.5 rear wrapped in 245/35 & 265/30 HANKOOK VENTUS K104

205x40x17 probably wont meet the load rating for the rolla which will void insurance if its checked.

look at 215x40x17 (maxxis mav-1 does this size, again doesn't meet the load rating which is 86 something from memory)

or look at 205x45x17.

yokohama do a few, c drives etc.

i run fulda excelro 215x40x17 which DO meet the load rating. they are about 180 a tyre.

you could also look at the federal 595, they meet the load rating. i know a few ppl on the forum have used those and in 17's you can probably get them for under th 150 mark each.

i will be getting the rims tmrw on 215x40x17 Falken329 tyres.

from what i've heard, the Falken326 tyres are rubbish.

the guy that works there highly recommended the 329, said its quiet, can get me 40,000kms and ****.
