just wondering where the rev limiter in the sportivo is ?

i find mine seems to hit the limiter @ 8000 or just before that ?

it doesn't even seem to reach the redline which appears to be at 8200 ?

i thought the limiter was about 8500 ?

cheers,

andrew

8200, trust me.

it looks a bit like 7900 on mine, too. but it's actually at 8200 coz that's wat the ECU readout says. i've had it peak at 8445 before, but that might be coz of the limiter bouncing a little.

Its 8200 dude...

Drive harder....:P

id love to drive harder :D finally landed a lift 1st-2nd now that gearbox is sort of fixed.

they still didn't do anything with clutch master cylinder but replaced selector cable and oil

.but on the tacho it looks like 7900 so i was just wondering

well, the tacho needle is a bit fat... :P

haha not that fat :) it doesn't even seem to be close to the redzone :(

also do you guys run 10-30 oil or 5-30 oil in your cars ?

the manual says 5-30 should be run but the little temp chart seems to show should be using 10-30.

and i bought some toyota oil and they said 10-30 is the stuff to use ?

What state you in man, come meet up with some other Sportivo owners...

I am sure this sounds like either a misreading, or a fault...

You should definitly get higher than 7900 :P

Cheers

if anyone wants to gaini more RPM's there is a cheap way....

its proven although to gain one thing you must lose something....

on a ae92 sx 4age we took the airconditioning out and the condensor....

torque, power and rpm gains were noticed.

an example of this is that the car was revin off the clock and wasn't hitting the limiter still.

tried it to a civic also and same gains. both cars are still running and that mod was done 2yrs ago.

downside is you lose your aircon.

keep it in mind. although personally i like my aircon too much.

What the hell are you doing looking at your tacho when your hitting lift in any case.

Look at the road dude.

Yeah that is true if u remove the air con you get better power. Shao explained this to me once.

Realistically remove anything that consumes power and notice a power difference. There is no way I would ever consider this though :D

coming into winter...time to remove the a/c and power steering ;) :P

14.6 wha?

yeah i know it sounds all crazy but when we actually done the job it was a phenomenal gain to the ae92 and civic. its a half day job removing those items and you have to re adjust the alternator belt.

if anyone is willing to do it to a stivo definately post it. as it is the stivo is rev happy i wonder what it'll do?

In the scheme of things on the drag strip....its a small price to pay :)
