Custom headlights

Recommended Posts

Has anybody tried spraying the inside of the front headlight trim (the chrome trim surrounding the two globes and the indicator, not inside the reflection region where the globes are). I want to but im not sure if i will damage the headlight seal (it any). I was thinking about tinting to a shadow chrome so that it will match with my yet to be aquired altezza lights.

Some people actually put the whole unit into an oven so that the seal heats up and can be pulled open.

I've seen it on a DIY Angel Eyes web site for a civic. Would look good if you can do it, but as soon as you break the seal on the headlight, the warranty is gone.

be careful with the temperature when reading from foreign sites

seen a pic of a guy who melted down his head lamps as he accidentally mixed up F with Celcius

I think those are lexus IS200 headlights with a custom surround to fill in the gaps. Lexus IS200 are just upgraded corrola sedans anyway, so may bolt in.

Ive already helped out on five cars, so I'm a bit over doing it and its pretty time consuming. Maybe some of the above people may wanna help you out with it. It really easy to do, ZAVs intructions are pretty damn good.
