Yeah and dont forget the flares!! I figured it out with 40mm spacers to clear the strut they would fit but then they would be poking 70mm!! Thats a bit too much to even with stretch :P

Tyre shop called me to say my wheels were stuffed because there are 2 valve holes. I had to tell them how and why they're there hahahahaha

NEW WHEELS!! :D

I went with the 949's again, theyre a great wheel and very cheap for what you get! Same goes for my tyres, Kumho KU31's! They grip really well but as soon as you got that bit too fast on them they lose grip straight away and arent progressive at all, im putting that down to more of a new tyre syndrome rather than the tyre itself.

Met this guy as I was handing my tyres over to the shop and he has an Escort track car, with a turbo duratec motor, which does 1:35's around winton when it doesnt snap axles haha! From having previous experience with these cars and suzuki swifts he recommended a few things with the suspension, so the car is now lowered 25mm in the front and 35mm in the rear and after a string alignment to the toe settings he recommended the car is handling great!! Only one problem with running this low (which is surprisingly legal height still) is that the sway bar is hitting a lip on the body of the car, so some mods with an angle grinder will fix that :)

Now enough of my blabbering... PICZORS!!!

Yepp makes it so much easier changing between the two now because the same lugs and rings are used :)

Camber will be staying like that for the street... and the numbers will be a secret for now ;) hehe

Removing more weight.. doesnt look suss at all with only one seat and no rear plastics! :P

Im really tempted to remove all the sound deadening but it goes against the philosophy of this car lol! im borderline butchering it already! haha

Im really surprised with the "ruined" suspension geometery how quick this thing is around corners! it just grips and grips and grips! Even in the wet! Although the rear needs a wheel alignment and stiffen up the rear sway again... also some grinding action too stop the knocking haha

EDIT: also signature photo with new rims ;) lol

  • 2 weeks later...

So opened my packaging and found some instructions because this is such a difficult part to fit...

Wait... what? Greeaat...

imgp8611z.jpg

Regardless I smashed the part into my car and took some happy snaps. Rebels gonna rebel. :)

can't wait to see the difference it makes as i can hear the rear of the car croaking and bending all the time. Gonna fang it around some corners tonight ;)

Rear brace does a really good job of making the rear rock solid which is what i like. Toyed around with the shocks again to improve it with the added brace and Im really stoked with the setup of the car now, just needs a few tweaks of alignment.

Looking forward to tinkering and racing this car on the holidays ;)
