Hey guys, so im currently trying to adjust my clutch pedal to see if i can get the clutch to engage any further..... i.e enable me to change from 1st to 2nd gear easily. So my mate has just got his done and is loving life ;) Anyways can anyone tell me if there is some secret to loosening the 12mm locking nut on the guide rod that goes into the slave cylinder.... i can get a spanner on there but i have no movement :/ its driving me crazy haha. Any handy tips would be appreciated.

Cheers

You need ninja fingers

Try maybe a crows foot or you need to get an open ender in there some how

Haha agree on the ninja fingers. Once i crack that lock nut, can i twist the rod with my fingers??

so what happens if you remove all the free play from the clutch and you still cant get from 1st to 2nd in lift?

yeah still got the stock clutch in. Does it make that much of a difference in smoothing the transition between 1st and 2nd in lift?

With aftermarket yes..

how come with after market it does? whats the mechanical advantage behind it?

Honestly cause it doesn't disengage properly as its why it crunches.

IMO you can try bigger slave cyl push rods

Clutch adjustment at the clutch pedal, brake bleed, syncros, but it leads to a clutch in the end, I know a guy who did a rebuild on 2nd and 3rd gears and still did it..

Also there's a thread goin around its shifter cables... Crapppy south African cars

its a 14mm nut.

Either shorten or lengthen clutch point.
