Have read some interesting things in various threads in this club. Today I spoke with a Toyota parts rep who informed me that the TRD superchargers are still available and parts for them and not just for Aurion TRD owners. Would someone like to clarify this information as I have read that they are no longer made yet this rep insists they are available and will be for some time yet. Also from the same gent TDR body kits are available to anyone not specifically TRD owners. He believes that 'some' Toyota dealer's may be reluctant to place order's as apparently the kits though available are hard to get. What's the spin chap's??

Can't comment on whether the specific build of the supercharger is still being made since there is no need for it, but the R1320 which the TRD supercharger pretty much is (just a variation of it) is still being produced. Toyota would surely still have stock so I have no doubt that the TRD specific one is still available . Be prepared to pay lots of money if you choose to go down that route.

Dealers at first may have been a little bit picky on supplying parts to non-TRD owners, but I guess that has just died down over the years. If the rep you spoke with is willing to supply, then that's the answer... you can obtain them.

Thank's Boris. I suppose I could be looking around $8-10 grand but as I have read probably cheaper to just buy a TRD huh.

toyota must keep enough stock on hand to adequately fulfill the warrantable needs of its previous sales plus i think by consumer law there is a period of time that they must continue to maintain stock of parts .... i think its something like 10yrs from the point that they stop selling the product parts must still be available or something like that.

i have read into this, i am a toyota qualified mechanic, im also looking into supercharging my zr6, for my price its 5.2k for the supercharger gen, getting it aint a problem but it 5k just for the supercharger, you need the patching harness, TRD ecu, breathers etc list goes on, DO NOT GET GEN! its a harrop supercharger, friend of mine thinks you can go to a specialised harrop dealer and get a kit for little over 5k, will be looking into it and letting you know :)

also not cheaper for me to just buy trd, i like my car and mods :) plus prob can only get 20k for my car at 80k kms, 5k for a charger, and trds are still going for 35k plus.

That's all well and good, but you don't need to factor in labour unlike some of the people attempting the task.
