Hey I have a ZR6 with the push start and all that. I only have the one key and dont have an actual key only the fob. The battery has gone flat and and I cant seem to find one anywhere in town. I would rather find one somewhere than pay over a hundred bucks at toyota. Anyone please help!!!

There should be a mechanical key on your fob, there would be a metal part of the fob, probably the part with the key ring through it. If you also can't find the door lock the cap that is where the door lock should be will be removable.

Something like in the attached photo.

Edit. And get a spare key before it gets lost/ stolen/ misplaced. It will cost you a lot less to get a spare compared to getting a locksmith out when all keys are lost or taking it to Toyota to replace everything.

There is no key inside the fob. Trust me, I have pulled the thing apart and checked and there is nowhere to actually put the key in to start the car. With enough time and effort I could pick the lock to get inside the car but still cant start it so whats the point. The car manaul says the it should have a key inside the fob and it has the button for it to slide out but zero key inside, very odd. but I'll have to go to jaycar and hopefully pick one up. To the missus' Mazda 2

u cud try going to battery world. im not sure if QLD has it, but here in WA they sell the battery for it, ur local dicksmith wont have em.

Correct, they are a bit of a pain to find but u can get a replacement battery from Toyota if all else fails. Last time I needed a replacement they wanted about $30 however I did eventually find one for $15. Just check battery specialists as per the above posts. Good luck!

A lot of remotes need to be resynchronised once the battery has been flat/ removed for a couple of seconds.

I do find it odd that there is no mechanical key in the fob, don't think I have ever seen one with out the key in it.

I can take a picture of it but it is very odd, I agree. No resync needed, was all sweet.

I know picking the lock on a car isnt easy, can do it, with a lot of time and effort, but still cant start the car so no point

but all is good now
