Scratched '05 Sportivo front spoiler lip

Hi All,

Today I misjudged a driveway and as I slowly exited onto the road I scrapped

my new 05 front lip on the tarmac :(

I am just totally devastated as the underneath of the lip is scratched in 2 separate places. :(

Because I am so fastidious and a very fussy owner i'm thinking of getting a new 05 sportivo lip but then comes it's cost to first buy then paint.

Would appreciate anyone's thoughts whether it's just me getting upset for no reason or if this is a common scratch pad on the stivo's ?

If I was to buy a new lip does anyone know the best place to get one from??

Will Toyota paint this accessory??

Perhaps I should just leave it but then I will be too concious of it everytime I see it and clean the car.

Any advice would certainally help.

It's a common place to get a scratch and I would just sand out the scratches(if they're deep) and touch it up. I've had to do it to my car a couple of times due to my wife's encounters with gutters and the like. :(

you can buy it from toyota about $300. they can arrange for it to be painted for you through the dealer's panel beater (the local shop around the corner). painting would be around $200 and installation?

i think just live with it. you can never tell the quality of the painting or installation so it may turn out worse than the scratch underneath.

why not do a home job? take it off sand it down lightly if need be apply some of that putty clay stuff to remold it, then respray, (borrow some1s air comp + spray)

wouldnt cost more then 50 bux id say to fix from what you've said. I presume its underneath where no1 will notice it.

Does the updated face have similar problem of where the lower lip snaps in 2 at the centre?

im absolutely puzzled how to get that one fixed. :lol: common guys fess up i know its a common problem in the preface lift models =D

then again you can always try a bumper specialist they will fix it for you but i dunno how much.

Well.....I hate hearing that ugly scraping sound!!!Especially when it's bound to have taken off paint!! BUT in all honesty if it has'nt cracked the front lip and it is just unvisible scratches from under-neath dun even worry about it i scrape my kit on a daily basis!!!LOL and it pisses me off at the time ,but hey if ya cant see it...and it hasnt damage the bar dun even worry about getting sum-one to paint it!!! I am a spray painter by trade and for such a small job u will probably just get ripped off!!!! :lol::lol: LOL But if u need sum tips to fix it urself feel free to PM me!!! :D

happens to my front all the time and i don't even have a front lip.

i know a few 05 stivo owners who have have the under part of the front lip scraped. Dw too much about it... most people have had it scratched. besides, its only a scratch... not crack. :D

If you cant see it while standing up then its not there

I sctratched my side skirt when the rear of the car fell into a ditch (Long story on a dirt road for work). I was really angry, but then got over it cuz i can only just barely see it from the top. So yeah if its not too obvious, then dont worry about. It would be worse if you repair it, then it happens again.

whilst u r standing u can slightly see the scratched bits on the two separate sides of the lip.

does anyone know which sydney dealers have this front lip for the 05 stivo?

saves me ringing around! :P

      05 hiace ecu

      Hi all, new member needing some help with an issue that has me stumped, replacing ignition and had a short somehow. Van would not crank or obviously start, found blown fuse and replaced, now car cranks but won’t start, no check engine light when ignition is first turned on and scan tool will not communicate with ecu. All fuses good except fuse 26 on instrument panel fuse box has no power. almost convinced my ecu is cooked but before outlaying for a new one thought someone may either advise another possible cause or confirm ecu likely the issue, appreciate any advise or experience similar.

      1989 Hilux Low Voltage

      Hey all, recently got a 1989 Hilux with the petrol 22r engine. I had plugged a voltage meter into the 12v socket because I suspected an electrical problem as the battery light had been on. It had read 11.9 volts initially but the more I drive the more it deteriorates, currently sitting at 10.9 (after several hours of driving) when the engine is running. This obviously doesn't charge the battery and it can't start by itself. I have since replaced the battery and yesterday I did the alternator with a brand new one. I've checked all the grounds that I can see but it's still sitting at 10.9 volts and deteriorates over time. I was thinking the voltage regulator is the next best bet? I looked at it visually and it seems fine. Anyone got any other ideas? Note: I had a very long drive the other week and on one occasion the voltage spiked back up to 15+ volts for a short while before going back down to about 11.4 And yeah I'm trying not to drive it too much because I know it's probably damaging the battery being on such low voltage. Any help would be awesome thanks!

      FUEL WARNING MESSAGE

      Photo below showing remotely mounted relay for sup pump and switch to connect relay coil to earth when required. The earth connection for the switch was found using a test light in an empty relay socket just near where the relay is now mounted. You can trace the solid black wire. Btw, I soldered all the crimp connectors. I don't have a lot of faith in crimp connectors. Geoff

      Wanting to build my car.

      I’ve brought my first car a while ago it’s a 2008 Toyota Aurion sportivo zr6 it has 215xxx kms I’ve been wanting to modify it as it is tidy but I’m unsure if I should since the car is this old and I have had to replace the oil cooler lines a month ago (my car dumped its oil on me) just unsure if they go good after a certain age. what I do want to do to it is. wheels lowering springs or coil overs stiffer sway bar exhaust tint all round after market head lights and tail lights (if any of you know decent ones could you shear a link as I’ve only been able to find some on eBay) if there is anything else that would make it look good like body kits if there are any would be nice to know.       2004 hzj79 surging/jolting

      Gday Ive got a problem with my 2004 hzj79 with 235,000kms with no turbo, ive takin it to a few places all have different answers. At 1400rpm just on light throttle it seems to be surging/jolting as if your on and off the accelerator. Ive recently had the head gasket, head, injectors, fuel filters and timming belt all done and is still happening after the works been done. Has anyone else had the same problem before or be able to point me in right direction? Cheers.
