is the new yaris the new rolla

i amy be wrong but recent talk from you guys is that rollas arent being built anymore

but i have seen the add in sydney for the new yaris a few times lately and everytime i keep thinking it looks SO MUCH LIKE A ROLLA

anyways just thought i would say something

knowing my luck its probably been said before <_<

or maybe it was just the sportivo

gees i dont know i get mixed up ive had to take in so much info the last 3 months

I know what u mean...

I heard they've crammed more features into the Yaris than in the Rolla!

I reakon it looks more like the four door echo!!!!LOL......I dont know why they bothered to bring the YARIS to OZ it is so much like the echo, and it is pretty old in terms of being released in japan.....They should have released sumthing with a fresh new look for example the "CALDINA" or even the funky little wagon "Bb" if they are trying to appeal to the petrol price concious market!!!! :P :lol: :D

The Yaris is just the Echo, its renamed to fall in line with the rest of the world, kind of how Mitsu stopped the mirage and changed to the Colt, everyone else in the world already knew it as the colt :).

i think the new yaris looks cool (echo on roids). i wasn't a fan of the echo AT ALL. hated everything about it, except for the digital dash, which was kinda cool.

the new front end of the yaris seems to make it look more proportioned. saw it on rove last night and it didnt look as small as i thought it would be, but maybe cos of camera tricks.

i just wish they didnt make it so slow...

They look similar because they're both Toyota's...

More and more manufacturers are giving their cars a common corporate face eg, All BMW's have the Kidney Grille, All Audi's now have the singular upper and lower grille. etc

The share common features so the brand is immediately recognisable. So you can count on the next gen Corolla having some similarities to the Yaris.

I don't think they can get much newer ... the Yaris has only been on sale in Japan for a few months. We're getting them much sooner these days, thankfully! :)

Hey boyz i saw a Yaris today at Cabramatta it was nice looking too man....very cute car

My gf's one is on a boat and we get it on the 15th

I don't think anyone has actually answered his question, are Corollas still being built? Are there any grades that aren't?

Corolla is still being built, I don't think Toyota will ever cease Corolla production because it means too much to them.

As far as I've heard, its all as-is until 2007 when the 10th gen model is released. Having said that, there are numerous suggestions on these forums about the Sportivo ceasing production, the 1ZZFE being de-tuned to meet emissions, etc, so we'll probably only know the real story when things actually occur.

that sucks i think they should just keep making sportivos better and better every year

just like commodore

and ford

and honda

ETC ETC why would they stop producing their current best performing car (well australian cars cus i know a supra is much better than a corolla hehe)

yeah what im saying is not about the rollas i guess BUT the VVTL-i motors should stay in competition with hondas V-TEC

doesnt have to be in a rolla body

its like the holden V6 Vs Ford straight 6

I think you'll find the salesman meant that there will be a new Rolla in 2 years, not that Toyota will give the Rolla the flick in 2 years.

After all, it is the best selling model in the Toyota range now ... they're not going to throw it away!

Not only that, but it would leave a huge gap between the little Yaris and the Camry, not to mention the fact that the Corolla is the only Toyota wagon you can buy.

      overheated engine

      I drive a 2010 series 200 sahara V8 automatic. I recently towed a small caravan on a not that hotter day. The temperature gauge went to about half then dropped back to normal. The motor then went into limp mode and eventually stopped. On lifting the bonnet i noticed the top radiator tank had split all the way across. I have only two months ago had the complete cooling system checked with no defects. I called the RAA in South Aust and they tried to start it but just turned over but did not fire up. It was still pretty hot. I have been told the motor would be ruined by overheating. The car has been sitting at the repairers for 5 days now and as far as i know it has not been attempted to start. Before putting a new motor in it would it be worth putting a new radiator in it and see if it will fire up? Open to any suggestions at this stage.

      1996 Trueno XZ - Is it worth modding?

      Depends on how common/rare they are in your part of the world. The XZ trim was the second-lowest so didn't come with most of the fun bits that the full-fruit BZG/V/R models did, so it's not anywhere near as desirable stock but sometimes you have to make do with what you can find, plus you shouldn't feel as guilty modding the heck out of it since most of it isn't special.

      VSC, Traction Control, Check Engine lights all on

      I attended Toyota Preston for Aurion ATX 2013 major service today. Cost $~$1300. On the way home I stopped to pick up dinner. Two fault lights: engine and VSC lights came on when I restarted the car. Car drove home just fine. I can only return the car tomorrow for them to sort out. Annoyed. Let’s see if they’re still on in the morning.

      1996 Trueno XZ - Is it worth modding?

      Hi everyone, new member to the group and owner driver of a nifty little Toyota Sprinter Trueno XZ, now this was my cousins car, I bought it off him and after various drives, I have come to the decision that this needs alot of love. Now I am wondering if its worth putting my time and money into doing this certain make n model up or should I just buy a different car to do up?
