Is My Battery Safe?

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

Recently, i was involved in an accident, in which my Optima Yellow Top battery (Gel type) obtained two big dents on it. I do not see cracks or leaks on it...

Do you think this battery is still safe to use?

Have you contacted Optima? In something potentially as dangerous as this I'd be going straight to the manufacturer, not relying on internet "wisdom".

Spoke with Optima a little while ago, as these battery are built with strong reinforcement shell, they can withstand heavy impacts. They asked me to do a stress/battery test then charge it, if it doesn't fume, the battery is fine
