In the process of acquiring a set of lowered springs, but I'd like to know what kind of experiences people have had. Currently looking at set of H&R lowered springs, but I'm not sure if their stated lowering of 1.4 inches is too much/not enough.

Need help from the Toyota guru's please.

Depends what your wanting out of lowering ?

I run 2 inch and only find trouble with the odd speed bump/driveway but I wouldn't recommend dropping it all without replacing the shocks with something stiffer than stock.

Only really looking to get a bit more "stance" out of the current set up. I also wouldn't mind a bit extra handling in the car, but that's secondary at the moment.

stance and handling dont go too well together imo,

if you want handlings and some lows, id reccomend goin for coilovers.

Also if you dont have one already; a rear sway bar is a nice handling upgrade

King springs are the best value for money. Keep in mind that the subframe hangs very low, even if the car does not look visually low. Super lows will also put it lower than legal height, if you are concerned about that.

Thank's for the advice guys, going straight to coilovers does seem daunting, but would you think it'd be a better upgrade? The thing I'm concerned about is buying a set of springs with a set drop, and not being happy with what they've dropped it by. What set of coilovers do you have jeffy? I wouldn't mind my XV10 to sit kind of like that, just a little higher.

Coilovers start at about $1100, I think it would a over kill as your car is almost 20 years old and all your bushes will be very worn. Lowering springs, new shocks and bushes would be a better option.

Hmm, thanks for the advice everyone. I'll most likely just put off any mods for now, and save up longer. It didn't even occur to me that the bushing in the old girl are atleast 20 years old.
