Estima horn continually fails

I have an 2004 Estima, when imported the horn was missing. Local garage has fitted three new horns and all have worked initally worked then failed after a few uses. Can anyone put any light on the reason for this. We notice that there are four wires for the horn or are there normally two horns fitted?

Mine has two horns. They are mounted both sides of the bonnet release mechanism. Do you still have the original wire harness that goes up to the horn(s)? There should be two identical plugs that connect to the horns. Let me know if you need photos.

Are they fitting poor quality horns?

Thanks DAY50K, The wire harness is there but horn was mounted on the fire wall. I think that they are getting to hot. Will mount them where yours are.

You should take the van back to the place where they were fitted and get them to take a look at them as they should have some warranty on the product and on the installation of them, as long as you have a receipt take it back to them and get them to recheck them.

Hi Aries 2016. Problem is now sorted. Dealer has replaced the horn twice for me no cost and sorted out the problem. Horn was located in the incorrect position and getting to hot causing it to fail. All good now.
