Brake issues
UPDATE. Got in contact with DBA, explained the problem and they asked for pictures of the rotors. These were supplied and the response was slight pad deposit which would cause 'DTV'. That is the technical term for Disc Thickness Variation. Why would I have that? Vehicle has travelled 30K km since the brakes were changed, easy driving and no towing. Was I suppose to use DBA pads instead of Repcos. No mention anywhere that this is the advice - website, box etc. In desperation had a conversation with a chap at Autobarn who seems to know his stuff, not just a salesman. His comments were that rotors are more prone to being damaged than discs with a built-in hub. Reason being that if they do not sit 110% flat against the hub or that wheel nuts have not been tightened correctly damage could happen. Whenever I have taken the wheels off, the wheel nuts are torqued to 140Nm and in the correct sequence when re-installed. Who knows what happens at a tyre shop. Apparently even a minute spec of corrosion on the hub could cause this. What a lot of BS I thought. So, pulled the brakes off again for the third time in as many days and took them to a machine shop. Cut a long story short, they required an ever so slight amount of skimming. After 30,000 kms? Thickness of pads is 1 mm, yes 1 mm, less than new. So when I say easy driving, I mean easy driving. Most of the shudder has gone now. I say most because the rears probably will require skimming. Am I looking at going through this whole BS 30,000 km from now? BTW, also got a lecture from DBA about not using a 'qualified' mechanic. So I asked, what would this so called 'qualified' mechanic have done different. And where do you find one? Certainly not at a Toyota Stealership. -

CH-R sudden engine failure
@NikMac, experienced the exact same issues you described for the second time last week. Warranty repair after a battle with Toyota. They replaced coils. Same thing happened last week, dealership did an engine clean. The only advise they could give me was to warm the car for 10mins before driving in the mornings. Just got off the phone with Toyota (no) customer care . They said to follow dealerships advise. Nothing else they could do. Emailed me the following “We have investigated the matter related to ongoing limp mode concern with ………… At this point in time the team at ………… Toyota have conducted repairs in line with Toyota Australia's advice. We encourage you to follow the advice they have provided and if the concern reoccurs to contact your preferred Toyota Dealership. If you are dissatisfied with our decision, we encourage you to seek independent legal advice. Remote engine start from key fob 2014/15/16/17
Hi I am looking to do the same this as you - however in my kit the cabling that connects to the ECU that I received does not reach all the ways from the steering wheel to the left hand passenger side where the ECU is located in the Australian Kluger models. How did you extend the cable? Also what wiring did you buy to do this? It would be great if I could just get a wiring harness to extend the connections. -

Oh yeah I dont recall about the allen key and your photo isnt showing currently for me "503 service unavailable" from the host. I haven't had any issues with the parkers either. The visibility is much greater and I prefer the whiter colour rather than the regular yellowish hallogens. Hopefully you're happy with them- 1

2005 Toyota Corolla miss fire on acceleration cant scan obd2
so my girlfriends Toyota Corolla Seca 2005 1.8 L Auto started miss firing on her way home from work to the point where she didn't want do drive it home. so i drove it home it was miss firing on acceleration. When i looked at it i seen that one of the coils has a crack going though it. So i ordered a full new set of ignition coils from eBay and replaced them when they arrived after a week. when i first drove the car it drove mint no miss fire took it for about 10 minutes then had some dinner and drove home no problems so i thought it was fixed when my girlfriend went to take the car the following day it started doing the same miss fire on acceleration and is back to how it was since then I've tried -cleaning maf -cleaning cam shaft pos sensor -cleaning throttle body -alternating all the igntion coils that i have (2 OG Toyota, 1 NGK and 4 Ebay) -pulled the sparkplugs out they do have a little bit of build up but I replaced them when we got the car 9 months ago and still no luck or improvement it got so bad car wouldn't stay on. Then I cleaned the maf out and it made it better but it still has a miss fire ive then tried to get it scanned at super cheap and they couldn't get it to work I then bought a scan tool and it still didn't work :( so i thought my obd2 plug was broken its getting power and both grounds work i also checked the pins and popped one of them out from the plug to try and tighten it the scan tool still wouldn't work. then i found out that in Australia and New Zealand OBD2 wasn't the legal standard until 2006 and this car is a 2005 but why would it have the plug then ?? not sure what the problem is im thinking sensor or coils? I've been trying to chase why this obd2 isn't working so idk what to do now Currently I'm draining the ecu in hopes to "reset" it If anyone else would have some advice or input it would be greatly appreciated <3 -

Seeking Head stud socket for 1.5l Yaris engine - supplier?
Have you got a photo of the stud? There are a couple of styles which look similar to each other but aren't technically cross-compatible, like triple-square and 12-point/double-hex. Since you've already tried triple-square/XZN (the M8/9/10 bits you mentioned) I'd say it's a double-hex -

Hi -Ace Fuel Consumption
I have an imported Hi-Ace 2018 4WD. City driving I get about 15lt per 100km and open road about 11km per 10km. the vehicle all time 4WD and therefore I understand the fuel consumption will be higher, I am thinking that some out there has had the same issue and has been able to improve this issue. Remote not working properly
Hi lately the locking and unlocking using the remote has not always worked. At the moment I can lock the car using the key lock and used to be able unlocking doing same but now won't unlock this way. When I unlock using the remote it doesn't always work first go I have replaced the battery in the remote. Toyota want to charge $280 to do a diagnostic check as it could be more than just replacing the remote particularly because the key lock won't work to open the doors what do others think -

Head Unit Replacement
Hi everyone, I have 2018 Tarago Ultima. It has an old style entertainment unit which does not have android auto. I want to replace it with a wired android auto head unit. Any suggestions?
