How much money have you spent on your car???

Recommended Posts

Gotta get myself a fire extinguisher for $30.

If your farts are anything like Silvabullit's then you'll need a whole fire evacuation plan, sprinkler system and arson insurance....

I haven't spent enough, DUH :P

things I require for the grandpa spec racer

Turbo or Twin Turbo (depending on my mood at the time)

New gearbox (prefer 6 speed)

New paint work (black with blue pearl)

New suspension setup (lower, harder, faster, meaner, phatter :P)

New 17" or 18" S/C rims with good rubber

Dash conversion (new colour scheme, maybe cascade blue or ink black like)

no idea on how much its gonna cost, but I'm working on it :P

so far

stereo $2800*

*RRP - Like I pay that :P

I'd say easily over 12k if you wanted a decent reliable turbo setup on the quad cam pete. The quad cams are a favorite of modders in japan (I have seen many turbo charge them, similar to the gold turbo vienta here in Canberra) so perhaps Japan will be a port of call for you.

If you do a turbo conversion on the cheap side you will suffer engine failure one way or another I think :(

Good luck mate!

$1,050 total - $1000 for rims/tyres & $50 for a chrome grille ;)

Had big plans when I bought the car but now i'm keeping it pretty stock since i'll probably give it to my dad when the new 'rollas come out...

That's exactly what i said...and i'm up to 5k now $_%

I think I'm the same, don't really want to know though...

By the look of that list of mods I'd say you've got at least $12,000 worth of fun out of that bad boy!

Economics theorises that time is the ultimate cost (because of the alternatives that you had to forgo to spend time on one particular thing). So how about a "How much time have you spent on your car?" thread...

Projected winners:

1. Tom

2. Micky

3. All the other DIY maddogs!
