Hi guys,

I recently purchased a 04 Corolla. At the moment the CD player is security locked and I wasn't given a code.

I have the log books but it doesn't seem to be specified in it? What do I do?

Thanks,

Andrew

If you bought the car brand new, you should have got a card stating the pin.

If you didnt go back to the dealer and demand one. It should cost you nothing because it should have been there to begin with.

If you bought it 2nd hand, ask the dealer nicely and they might be able to help you (also its advisable to go the dealer you bought the 2nd hand car from, or look at the number plate because most dealers usually fit their details on there too).

As for cost details, call them and ask. Its the only way you'll get a definitive answer.

I had the same problem, try the last 3 digits of the VIN code. There is also a Toyota fleet PIN, but I can't remember what it is. I believe you have 3 tries so if one doesn't work the unit will not lock or anything.

To get it reprogrammed the dealer has to REMOVE the head unit and plug it into a harness which sends a reset instruction to it, similar to the OBD hand held unit.

Mofos! I just called up Toyota service and they quoted $49.95 just to unlock the PIN. :o

I rang up Peter Warren and they said the same but they also said they havn't put PIN's on their CD playres since 1992 (so I think mine doesn't have one).

It only gets locked if the pin is set.

If the pin is set then your security light on the stereo blinks when the key ignition is off.
