I would think your aircon needs to be re-gassed?

The airconditioner has nothing to do with the heater. If the aircon needed to be regassed, it would not be cooling. KSpec is having the opposite where it is not heating... but only on the drivers side. Because of this, I suspect the issue to the the servo motor or the vane that is part of the heater core that controls how much air passes through it.

Out of curiosity, with the car off hold down the 'AUTO' and the 'Recirculate/Fresh Air' buttons and turn the ignition to the ON position (press the Engine Start button twice with your foot off the brake). When all the lights and display start to flash, release the buttons and wait until the lights stop flashing. Afterwards, any error codes should then be displayed in the form of a number on the driver's side temperature display. Let me know what numbers you get. If you get 21 and/or 24, don't panic. That's just the light sensor at the front not reading a bright value. If you get 41/43/46... then it's definitely the air mix servo. If it still only displays 0 or 21 and/or 24, press the 'Recirculate/Fresh Air' button, let it cycle through it's check (it will count up from 0 to 9) and when it gets back to 0 again, press the 'AUTO' button to see if the numbers have changed.

Just on a side note. i have seen a few air cond issues where the driver may dislodge the wire to the servo motor on the r/h side of the aircon box. As he or she puts the park brake on their shoe may snag the wire and in some cases the servo plastic housing may brake and require replacement. i have seen 3 of these issues and 2 were on one car (dept of defence aurion) 1 owner 73 drivers, lol

if you lie on the drivers floor and look up toward the air cond box you can see 2 servo motors and wiring plugs, the lower one is the most common one. this would stop the heater box from moving so it depends on where it last got stuck - whether it is hot and no cold or vice-versa.

cheers Tim.

p.s. the 2 servo motors come as 1 piece on the locating plate when ordering a replacement.. i may have a spare servo somewhere ????????

Is there a problem?

Have a read of this URL. Good idea to check the condition of the serpentine belt.

Hi,

I have same issue but my is 2009 Aurion. Does anyone have know about this issue?

My Toyota Aurion 2009, every time I start the car, my front windscreen defrost button keeps blinking for 30 - 60 seconds. During that time, can’t operate the air cond. Then it become normal. There are not much information about this issue but I did check for the air mix and mode selector motor and it moving. But one thing I noticed about the mode selector motor that when I start the car it move back and forward then stop. But I select the mode from main to main and floor to floor to floor and screen I don't see it move. Have anyone know or experiencing this issue? Hope someone can help

i have this same problem and have replaced the blend door motor and the problem is still there. Drivers side blend motor doesnt turn so its always stuck on the same temp and only the passenger side changes from hot to cold. What else could be the issue? presuming electrical issue that controls the blend motor actuator. Any help would be great
