Did some work to her on the weekend.

The previous owner had fitted some dodgy custom trimmed door cards... that he had sikaflexed on to the door... and he had glued the window winders to the spindles!

I got a full set of the base model hilux vinyl door cards (I don't want the carpeted ones, they only get filthy) and replaced them. The idiot had also mounted the speaker

pods at different levels and places on the front door, as such you couldn't wind the window down without it hitting. so I fixed that too.

I got some hilux surf chrome door handles and fitted them, as well as a SR5 map light set.

I discovered that the rear window winder controller was stuffed and the guy had just dodgied it up, meaning you cant wind the thing down with the key, he also made a 'custom' (fibreboard and sikaflex) cover for the rear door. So next weekend it will be back to the wreckers for some more bits.

I am also thinking about how I will design some rear storage area for it. At this stage I am thinking a false floor about a foot from the rear floor with a drawer system...

  • 2 weeks later...

I also worked out how I will mount my second battery. Got a $20 battery tray from supercheap and made some supporting brackets to go under it.

Once I fit a snorkle and remove my airbox (changing to an eclosed pod) I will be able to put the tray in.

It is AUDM as f*ck haha.

The surf was the JDM model and the 4runner was the AUDM model.

Mine has has a few little nice touches from the surf added (chrome bits, etc) and has been de-badged.
