195/55/R16 is expensive because its uncommon (The Turanza E30 are like $200+ per tyre), you can always try another profile like 205/55/R16 or 215/55/R16 instead.

The only way you're gotta get a cheap deal on the 195/55/R16's is if someone is selling their existing rubber (if you offer me $130 per tyre you can have mine, then i can go get some Toyo 205/55/R16's :P)

205/55/R16 89V i believe is a more common profile (hence cheaper), I made an inquiry from Blairs Tyres @ Cabramatta for some Toyo Trampio TPG's @ 205/55/R16, and they were like $144 per tyre and 205/50/R16 are $195 (i havent used this particular tyre but others have and said its excellent).

215/50-16 108mm 311mm 621mm 1952mm 512 0.1%

215/50/R16 would be the closest match, but i dont think that tyre exists :P

Edit: Fixed mistake, 205/55/R16 is the common profile, not 215/55/R16.

205/45/R17 are also an uncommon profile, they are around the same price as the bridgestone turanzas E30.

215/45/R17 is a cheaper common profile, but some ppl have said they scrape the guards.

44gze is selling his sportivo tyres + rim for $500 (approx 5000km), so maybe if you can then sell your existing rims with the worn rubber (approx $200) to offset the cost.

i think stivo rim width range is 5.5"-7",

so "215/50R16" should be a close match to factory?

diameter, sidewall height, radius and circumference is very close being 0.08% from stock

I reckon 215 will be a bit too big for the stivo, might slow it down as well.

I'm getting some Kumho 205/50 16's fitted, any opinions?

Does this profile exist in Australia?

DuGong seemed to like them, ask him for his opinion on them.

My mate had some low end 14" Toyos (i think 330's) on his corolla, i loved them, they hugged the road better than the stock dunlop sport toyota gave me (and mine were 15")

Also The TPG's are being replaced by the Proxes 4, if you're in Sydney, Blairs Cabramatta seems to be cheapest for Toyos.

205/50 r16 is as wide as I'd go on the stock rims.

eh? Why is that?

205/55/R16 can support 5.5 - 7.5" rim depth.

Would 205/55/R16 scrape?

i am using Toyo T1R on my stock rim 205/50/16 , its w rated , best value for money, they have excellent grip in dry , they hung on really well in hard corner , you hardly make it understeer , try them, i paid $ 200 ea, may be you can use T1R in the front and cheaper one at the rear , but you may find the car turn out oversteer when fast corner because thats what i have on mine, stick on T1R mate , you wont be disappointed.

Would 205/55/R16 scrape?

tyre fitters like to under size rather then over size - keeps the boys in blue happy

you may want to check the load ratings on 205/55 r16 too

205/50R16 are the recommended tyre size for stock stivo rims and 16x7 rims, as they dont rub and is the closest to keeping ur speedo correct.

im running 205/50R16 87V Advan Neova AD07 .... IMO and many others who have driven with these tyres will say that these are the best street tyres money can buy ... period

i have heard tho that the AD07 will be superceded in the future, un sure what will be its replacement as i forgot, but im think shao knows...

I agree that the Toyo T1Rs are great. Too bad that they are a bit more expensive in the 17s other wise I would have gotten them too.

Whoever is looking for the Toyo Proxes T1R check out this link:

http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40859

JDMYard is located in Padstow, Sydney and are selling these tyres for 165 fitted and balanced each. Bargain if you ask me...too bad i already bought some damn tyres for the subaru.

hmmmz 205/45/R16.... a bit small for us rolla drivers.

205/50 or 205/55 is a closer profile.

Fcking awesome prices though :D

Maybe for the stivo, but that's exactly what I'm after for my AE102! Cheers for that :D

Im running BF Goodrich sports on my car, they have a hell of a bite out of corners and grip well in the wet. Around $190 a tyre.

They are 205/50/R16 and as stated in previous posts they are the closest match to our speedo and they are a hell of a better tyre than the stock tyre!!
