tried this tonight and realised 2 things... 1. wow, it is actually quite easy to downshift into first in the stivo.... and... 2. landing in lift in first gear down change is one of the most exciting things i've done in the car, but makes me realise in need to improve the suspension because of all the wheelspin i got! still fun though.

What??? conrod straight is too short???? I think that a Stivo around Phillip Island would be pretty quick with the longer straights and flowing corners. haha i meant to say excluding conrod. would love to drive around Phillip Island, one of my favourites tracks

i think they mean the length of the track not the width. i think they're saying that australian race tracks have very short straights and many corners so power is not as much of an advantage.

You are half right. If you have good suspension set up, you can go in and out of the corner much quicker. In APPC Wakefield lap records class C Leanne Ferrier (Toyota Corolla Sportivo) 1:13.0843 08/08/2004 In his class the engine and brake has to be stock. All he has is suspension set up and semi slicks, This prove you dont need power to make the car go fast. In comaprsionm i have a 02 STI with 231kw @4ws with no suspension work and road tyres, i only manage 1:16. Um... Leanne Ferrier is a woman isnt she?

Fun yes but at the end of the day, you shouldn't have to rev match on a current model vehicle. Mine is going back for the clutch / gearbox to be fixed then its being put up for sale (This is not because of any bad experience, I just bought a different car) :). If your a reasonably good driver, you would match the revs anyway i would have thought

Dad has 2 stivo's, 1 road, 1 rally car I have my Stivo Mum has a Levin Brother has a Conquest Sister has an older model Corolla. I'd say thats just obsessive :P

it depends how much u are going to be travelling! my other half and i got it when we were up there and it was useful for 2 reasons, 1 caught the bus to dreamworld 4 times cos her cousin lives in Coomera so we got picked up from there to visit them, and also it was useful because we didnt know our way around and the shuttle buses drop u at the door, but cos they pick everyone else up u sorta get to know the area as well! but yeah, it can be worth it if your moving around for a bit. BTW Chevron towers is really nice, but make sure u go downstairs and visit Infinity! its the coolest place ever!

i like the Sportivo print idea, but if u get that, can i still get TRD? cos i was getting them for my brother, who doesnt have a sportivo! :P

thats what i was gonna say, due to the buttons on there, but maybe its a clock that also shows other information? not sure what, maybe temperature or something like that? i dunno, but i would doubt that it is replaceable with an english version. i doubt an english version exists
