  1. Yep, exactly right, but you should see the difference between the LCD and the LED... feels like the LED is sitting in the freezer pretty much, its awesome. LED FTW.
  2. Maybe... but i'm in Canberra. How much and when do you need it? Probably wont be able to take it off until after new year?
  3. Conrats Jase, good move to make. I too have recently made the same move, and have had similar questions going through my head. Depends on the state you live in also, but if you are a first home owner I believe there is no stamp duty in NSW. My situation - aged 23, combined income with partner of approx $160k/year, own 2 cars outright, $0 credit card debt Buying - Block of land for approx $220k, putting 4 bed w ensuite house worth approx $260k. Went with an ANZ first home loan, variable, lowest interest rate at the time, $0 loan establishment fees. Not an offset account loan. My partner and I had always been saving just because, but when we specifically decided to start saving we saved up 20% in about 2 years. In the time its taking for the house to be built, we have saved more which is good. 20% is good as you avoid mortgage lendors insurance, but i think currently about 10% is minimum. We havent moved into the house yet as it isnt build yet, but I dont think our lifestyle has changed much... i dunno, someone looking in might say it has. But just little things add up... taking lunch to work instead of buying, less nights out, cheaper brands of food etc. I dunno... i guess if you want it that bad then giving up a few things is totally worth it. I'm with Jaderd too, if you cant afford the rate rise going up 0.25%, you probably shouldnt be thinking about it... I also laugh when the news make a big fuss about it and interview local bogans who complain they cant afford to live but still have enough for the VB and Winnie Blues....

I can't answer your questions, but I wish I had one...
  5. mmm I have a few favourites... (sorry for the thread hijack, but its so worth it!) Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!
  6. Climb Dance is the greatest movie of all time... I have a copy at home. But the guy who posted the video is clearly an idiot, see the comments on the actual youtube page, he doesnt understand the beginning he just likes the drifting... idiot. They made a new version of Climb Dance last year, using Marcus Gronholm in a Ford Fiesta RallyCross... i'll see if I can find it. Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!PS the Peugeot 405 driven by Ari Vatenan (greatest rally driver of all time*) in the first video is pretty much a group B car anyway, so it fits in here too... :P PS again... The second video makes me sad too cos they've taken away so much of the dirt road!! *and should be the current president of the FIA...
  7. mmm SD is it wrong that the video you posted turns me on.... hahaha :P But everytime I see GpB cars, I think about poor Henri Toivonen... but at least we have the Race of Champions to remember him by...
  8. Yep, Bill and 51EKA (sorry mate not sure of your real name) are right, abuse is the killer with the C series boxes. I'm in no way saying that the C-One product is inferior - i'm sure it would be fine on a track car, unless you start with both wheels spinning like crazy. Our car suffers some abuse simply from the conditions, some dirt roads are beautiful and smooth, others are goat tracks, its just what rallying is about. It just so happened that the box broke on a steep hill, that had a bump which dropped off before the road began rising again... the car went over the bump, front wheels lifted a little and therefore spun, and when they landed again the force just broke the box. Unfortunate but thats what happens. I think the crown wheel is going off to Modena now, decision made. Cheers guys.
  9. Definately need a group certificate. Why dont you have records? Both you and your employer are required by law to keep your employment records for 7 years, so even if you old jobs dont exist anymore, the records should still be around.
  10. Had a look at the Ikeya, it looks like a top unit, the sequential part is awesome, but the ratio's are all wrong for us. Would be perfect in a track car though. Nice find SD Any other ideas anyone?
  11. They arent that weak, this car is pushing out a fair bit of power, and it takes a fair few hits on the rough road in Canberra. Bill's putting out way too much power into his box and it keeps munching it. Although not exactly sure what fails first in his case...
  12. Thanks SuperDave and SuperBill. That dog box looks interesting Dave, but we were really happy with the ratio's of the box we had, the car went brilliantly with it. Thinking about sending the standard one and the short ratio final drive to Modena and seeing what they can come up with - I think its probably the best bet. But still, probably big $$ Would get the standard one strengthened further, but the ratio's arent right with the close ratio box. The c-one final drive made it beautiful. Anyway, thanks guys.
  13. Anyone know of a decent crown wheel for a 2ZZ C64 gearbox? Broke the standard one after about 5/6 events, so replaced it with a C-One unit matched with C-One close ratio box and Kaaz lsd. First event, fine no problems, second event, 700mtrs into the first stage it broke and locked the gear box up (took us 4 hours to get it onto the trailer :() Anyone know of companies that make them? Hopefully make them strong? Cheers, MT
  14. Taxi's FTW, all the canberra ones say the Falcons last way longer than the Commodores as well. Seen some with 2m +++
  15. It is scheduled here late next year... we get the NA 2.0L Boxer and it is estimated for around 40k... ... but who knows... That sounds really positive, but Toyota have teased us before (think TRD Aurion = waste) I want to believe it, I really do. What an awesome Rally car it would be. But i'll believe it when I see it :(
  16. OMG...why is that? Causes glazing on the synchros, CHA54 made a post about it years ago, I'm too lazy to search for it. It feels great at first, but will slowly get worse until a rebuild is required. I know the WRX crowd hold it in high regard, and all the more to them if it works without an issue in their box, but it doesn't cooperate in our boxes. Thats cos Subaru boxes just break anyway, they are used to it. I wouldnt worry about breaking a driveshaft on the Sportivo, unless you are doing burnouts constantly, they will last a long time. Our 2ltr 2ZZ with close ratio box rally car has never broken a shaft. With oil, I wouldnt go much thinner than 10W-40. And gearbox oil, just use regular gearbox oil and add a little bit of auto trans fluid, works beautifully.
  17. isnt there enough by now? This one will fail, just like ozrolla and the rest.
  18. If it lands here, I bet it will be more than $50k, or we will get a grandma engine like the ZRE did
  19. Looks like a cheap chinese tyre, you get what you pay for.
  20. 10 kw atw wheels from a CAI???? get your hand off it.
  21. Yep, only the Levin ZZE-122 has side airbags, and they are located inside the seat, hence why it is illegal to put seat covers on a Levin.
  22. Pedestrian safety. Supposed to help the pedestrian bounce when you ram into them. Doesnt do much when another car hits you at speed.
  23. I know of 2 MR2 rally cars, both SW20 model. One regularly visits the trees, The other isnt exactly the fastest thing, but looks good and sounds the part. Talking to the driver though, he says occasionally the car just throws uncontrollable oversteer. I'm happy with my rally car :D Pics of the RS200 wildfireatx???
  24. Stroker kits for the 2ZZ dont make as much as a S/C. What they do make is way more low end torque, but you cant rev them as hard. Stroker + Turbo is king.3ZZ stroker kit would be good in a sportivo tho, cheaper then S/C cause you'd need custom stuff, custom bonnet most likely too, I dont think it'd clear it. I still wonder where people get the 3ZZ name from? The 3ZZ-FE is a 1.6L Engine in Corolla's in Europe. Anyway, we have a stroked 2L Sportivo, and it revs its tits off. Not sure what you meant when you said it doesnt rev as hard. By the way this is running a real ECU though
