  1. That's not too hard to get though Dylan ;)
  2. nowhere for Act to post? Thats not very nice. Anyway, i can't go. Bega valley rally that weekend, best rally in australia by far. Wouldn't miss it for the world.
  3. 15" wheels maximum on dirt, 16" is too big. Not sure if the Bates team use 19's either, I think they stick with 18's on the rolla. They used 19's on the Aurion they had though. Also, its no longer the TRD racing team, its Neal Bates Automotive only. And Rally Tasmania was Tarmac last year too. And someone put one of those bonnet scoops on a ZZE Rolla, but had nothing under the bonnet to match it.
  4. Do any of you (apart from Bill) have any need for 4-pot calipers? Standard ones are pretty good, and we use them a whole lot harder than you blokes do on the street or even if you venture to the track once in a blue moon.
  5. If they can do it under 3 hours, they are doing pretty dam well. its not that hard, just annoying to do. Hardest part is getting the rear mount out. Jason is right, you dont need to remove the cross member, but it helps if you loosen the bolts and drop it down a tad, makes it heaps easier.
  6. they are quick to a point. But a good driver in a sportivo will give them a big fright!! Hell i did to one bloke and he was giving it everything it had and all he could do was pull 2 lengths on me to just over 100. I've seen northy upset one on the move from memory too.... not in the commode either... Clearly it wasnt an MPS, or the bloke wasnt giving it a go, because there is no chance in hell you could get close to one of them.
  7. MT

    ideas ?

What sort of police attendance was there?
  8. x2 but if he was still in youd be complaining bout that too Had you been a part of any of the political debate threads in the past you would know that this is absolutely not the case. I was in the Liberal camp. See "Federal Election" in club lounge. Speedz: the Rudd campaign was well marketed... Now we will all suffer. Leroy: I didn't steal any kids from their families either...
  9. Its got nothing to do with reputation, its all about the fact that the largest car company in the world in losing money for the first time in its history. Its all business, and from a business perspective they need to look after there best interests. I would imagine that they will pull out of F1 fairly soon as well. Look at the WRC, is anyone saying Subaru has ruined their image by pulling out? How bout Honda with F1?
  10. Bates workshop is closed, all employees have been given redundancy packages. Neal and Coral will contest Rally Tas in Feb, Rally of Canberra in March, and maybe Rally of Melbourne. All self funded though. No idea about Simon and Sue. I would assume that they will attempt to fund themselves, but they wont be able to compete the way they have been over the past few years. Its very sad for Neal, but from a different perspective, it might end up being the best thing for the sport, as the ARC idiots in charge can look at the mess the sport is in and hopefully fix it from the ground up.
  11. Forgot to mention WRC as well. They are limited to 340-odd HP, similar weight to a V8 Supercar (1230kg, I think both those weights are throwbacks to the Group A era, which both WRC and V8s emerged from), yet they are absolutely lightning fast (gearing helps, as does traction). When you think about it, they don't have THAT much more power than a bog-standard STi or EvoX, not much more weight, yet a tonne more speed. Thats what I was about to say as well, you are all saying that sideways is the slowest way around a corner, yeah on tarmac maybe, get out on the dirt and have some real fun. If you arent sliding, you're not trying hard enough. And you are correct as well, the WRC's are HP restricted, but they have so much torque its not funny (600nm+)
  12. Who cares if its legal or not, its just plain stupid, simple as that.
  13. Get those little plastic blind spot mirrors for $5 from Supercheap
  14. When Xoom started using NOS he sorta fell in with the wrong crowd...
  15. The TEIN Super Wagons that were imported from Japan for Yus and Jimmy are the same part number as the TEIN Super Streets sold by Fulcrum Suspension (wholesaler) in Australia. Just to confirm what Masayuki said. Maybe Fulcrum revalve them but I doubt it.
  16. Don't forget the Bates and Evans rally cars have pumped guards, so the stickers on the rally cars wouldnt look the same on your car either.
  17. Don't you mean Leanne Ferrier? :P I also note that you didn't use her new surname of Tander, still a bit bitter about her marrying a knob? details details dave ..... always missing the bigger picture u r :P ...... all that matters is a chick named leanne used to drive a race tuned sportivo ...... the fact that i mis-spelt her maiden name and didnt mention she married a knob are just minor side effects of the bigger picture ..... u gotta learn 2 step back out of the detail and look @ what really counts in a conversation :P :P :P :P :P Yep... bigger picture... Like the fact that Leanne's car is a race car, and surprisingly its very difficult to turn a race car back into a road car. Actually, its impossible. Besides that, I know who owns the ex-Leanne Tander car, and yes its still a racing car, currently with a 2ltr 2ZZ running 190PS ATW. I have heard of this fabled 168kw Corolla Sportivo, it has popped up on here before about 2 years ago. Its a load of crap, it never happened.
  18. Aussie Rolla's dont have Traction Control, so no, no one here will be able to help you.
  19. excellent ..... ok will need 1 more set of tyres to cover dirt since im sorted for the other 2 ;) ..... bring it biatch :P No worries mate, i'll bring the tow truck when u hit the tree at the first corner an rip the front outta your car.
  20. No worries mate. 3 Rounds. 1. Drag 2. Circuit 3. Dirt See who wins that way LOL
  21. HAHAHA its started. I've been waiting for more ZRE owners to realise what they have missed out on. Especially now the TRD Rolla pipe dream has ended.
  22. Bill, you're comparing apples to oranges. I'm happy to take you on at wakefield. 5 laps in my car and 5 laps in yours each. Fastest aggregate wins.
  23. Hey Bill, What we use is the VIO POV-1, small camera, remotely controlled, SD recorder, neat little package. Best bit is it comes with a roll cage adaptor so it bolts against the cage with ease. http://www.vio-pov.com/ Only problem with this camera is it doesnt have a microphone sensitivity switch... meaning all you hear is the vibration. I dont have any footage uploaded from that camera, I will try to get some for you. I know u have seen this, but anyway... Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load!Taken with an I dont know what kind Sony Handycam, and mounted to the passenger side window with the suction cap and tripod screw in device thingy. Worked pretty dam well, except I kept trying to wind down that window LOL
