we broke a TRD LSD in our powerful rally car, and it has since been replaced with the KAAZ type and it is much better. Matched with the short ratio box and final drive its a magical car to drive now. We managed to fix the TRD one and are now using it in our less powerful rally car. Its holding up ok.

Corolla ZZE-12x have a timing chain, so no need for it to be replaced.

Nice idea. We normally just jack up the car somewhere, then get another jack under it, and then one on the other side and wheel it around like that. But it wouldnt help you get it off the trailer like I assume you did. Nice work.

The first thing I notice and love after getting out of the race car and into my road car is the lack of vibration. Closely followed by how easy it is to depress the clutch. But the lack of vibration puts a bigger smile on my face. There is no way in hell I could cope with that everyday. BTW ours are solid filled mounts as well not inserts.

Whilst I believe the black Stig was indeed only ever one guy (Perry McCarthy), the white Stig is known to be several people, at least one "normal" one and then the specialty ones (like Kovalainen when they did the Renault F1 lap, the stunt dude for the snowmobile ski-jump etc) My thoughts are along these lines too, but we know that Schumacher is a Ferrari test driver, so its probably possible that all big car companies send their test driver along for the show and just jump into the Stig costume. And those companies that dont care, Top gear provides a driver who is probably an ex-F1 test driver anyway. This fits with my other theory that all the big car companies are nuts to lend cars to the TG hosts :P

141kw at the flywheel. At the wheels, its a fair bit less. Some cars only crack 100-110kw at the wheels. As SuperDave said, just a few small mods and the car can get close to 125kw at the wheels, but some cars are different and wont respond to the mods as well. My road car pulled 120.4kw at the wheels with just an intake and exhaust. Spend more money on real mods, and the results start to come, and they are fantastic

you sure about that? i reckon i've seen every 2zz header around for the stivo...and they all look pretty similar... except for the blankign plate on the POST mar 2003 headers for the air injection system for the Northern American model 2zz's 100% sure. I doubt it makes a squat of difference, but they asked for differences

Sounds like there is an air leak somewhere, possibly a gasket, so try starting the car and when it starts running erratically, stick your head under the bonnet, look around the top of the block and have a listen for any sucking noises. If so, take it to any mechanic they should be able to pinpoint the problem and fix it for you.

Mobil in NSW has been selling caltex fuel for years, so not big change. Also, the fuel tank is designed to hold 60 litres, but in reality it holds more. Its called ullage, look it up. Just like if you buy a 20 litre jerry can, it holds almost 25 litres really

Yep, it's something I had in the back of my mind but wasn't thinking at the time. 200k kms old suspension just means it's worse as the front end goes down. Panic reaction was to do what everybody has said (apart from the kiddies still fantasizing about Fast and Furious), but I realised that I would probably end up hitting one of the poles. I ended up stabbing the brakes and going to full lock the way I was already turning, which lead to the car pivoting around on the front wheels and stopping in the middle of the road, facing the wrong way. Not as graceful as I would have liked, but did the job. Yep, its all well and good for me to say thats how you fix it, but in the real situation, what you did was probably one of the better options. I guess the best option is what all the fast drivers tell me, slow in, fast out :P
