  1. Wow, I did almost exactly the same thing when I first got my licence, same situation exactly, except a quieter street and I ended up destroying this old bloke's lawn... strange that you did the same thing. When i'm driving the rolla rally car on dirt, the back of the rolla loves to hang out a lot surprisingly, and the best way to counter it is steer in the direction you want to go and nail it, always keep the power on, even if its just lightly!
  2. Back off oversteer... shouldnt have got off the throttle. Thats the most common way FWD cars crash. Once you get to that limit, you are pretty much gone, only the very lucky survive that. Best way to counter it is left foot braking while keeping the power on.
  3. Hang on, your clock has a blue light behind it? If thats what you mean, then someone had changed the light behind your clock and clearly f*ked it up. If your clock is standard, i dont know why u mentioned the neons LOL
  4. im assuing that its an intank fuel lvl sensor as well. did i knock it? or not put it back correctly? y would i need to touch it to change a fuel filter in the bonnet of the car? Your fuel filter is under the bonnet? Are you sure?
  5. Might be Innocent? Might be a f*ckn d*ckhead. Acutally you are. Just take the punishment and get off the roads before you kill someone worthwhile.
  6. Wow, your mechanic definately just proved his worth.... In all of NSW, Mobil 98 IS Caltex Vortex 98. All Caltex and Mobil fuel comes from the same refinery at Kurnell, NSW. Which is owned by Caltex
  7. Shotgun! Question, any advantages of having an even shorter ratio gearbox? I thought the toyota one is short enough already..... Short? The standard gear ratios are appalling. The shorter gear set is fantastic, car feels completely different with it in. Of course, this is on a racing car. Short ratio box and LSD is overkill for a street car, and would make it a dog of a think to drive on the highway.
  8. I would say Aussie delivered 98 Octane would struggle with that. What are you trying to do with your 2ZZ? Whats the aim, what other internal mods are you looking at? NA, Turbo charged? Stroked?
  9. Shotgun! I need to find you the video Mr Dave of the 2ltr 2ZZ with the short ratio box as per above, screaming along River Road in Kowen Forest ACT Its change your pants type stuff
  10. you cant give your consumption by quoting km per tank. Whats a tank? was it full to start with? Did you use it all? Who knows. The only real measurement you can use is litres per 100km. Fill up so that it almost overflows, theres fuel in the tank nozzle that you can see, then you know its full. Then reset the trip, and drive. When its time to fill up, however many litres you put in til its full again is how many litres you have used. read the trip meter, then you can work out litres per 100km. Formula is Litres / km * 100 I average between 8.5 and 9 around the city, and between 6.5 and 7.5 on the highway. 03 Corolla Sportivo, modified, with 125,000km on the clock.
  11. I've used both the TRD LSD and the Kaaz LSD, not much difference between them, but the Kaaz is a much better made and stronger unit. Kaaz LSD with Kaaz short ratio gearbox and C-One final drive =
  12. Micky if we are comparing ECU's then the Motec is the Ferrari and the PFC is the VW based kit car of the thus mentioned Ferrari. I know of one BB harness in Brissy that combined with a PFC is entering an engine bay of a Sportivo real soon. Combined with a dose of CES goodness i'm sure the results will bring a smile to the owners roughish looking dial..... Missed the point of my post completely.... Can anyone tell me what the problem is with the A/C and the PFC? It doesnt work? Just wondering thats all. Silva, I know more than most people that the Motec and the PFC cannot be compared. I'm not trying to. No point, the motec wins hands down, but then the extra $$ make some people think its not worth it. Still, we have the Sportivo putting out the most HP (NA) that I have seen so far, so its worth it to me.
  13. Whats the issue with the A/C and the Power FC? Ours is perfect with the Motec, its great between stages B) . If the car is too warm though the idle goes all funny, but you can deal with that.
  14. After about 120,000kms my brother's ZZE122 gearbox busted a bearing on 4th and 5th gear, it was making a noise similar to the one you have described. The vehicle had taken a heavy side-on hit to the left front wheel before he owned the car though, so we assumed it would have something to do with that impact. We changed it for a fresher one with about 30,000kms on it and there's been no problems since (note: original clutch still in great shape). Car is approaching 150,000kms now.
  15. i think bp ultimate is the only 98RON fuel that have guarenteed it to be 98RON that goes into your car at the bouser. if this is the case or not im not sure. i read it somewhere will have a look for the article If the fuel is advertised as 98RON it will be 98RON or higher. Fuel is one of the most regulated industries in Australia. In the ACT each petrol station has quarterly tests for fuel quality. At the petrol station I have interest in, 91RON typically comes out around 93, 95RON is about 96 and 98RON is 98-99. If you advertise 98RON and it's measured as being 97RON you should get ready to bend over. Same deal for under-dispensing petrol pumps (they are calibrated to over-dispense). Same sort of situation if Coca-Cola put 567mL of Coke in your 600mL bottle

    Kaze's EP3R~

Steve, stick some black rims on now... and sell me the current set... I know someone who wants them. Awesome ride mate B)
  17. ahahaha whoops. Typo. Was wondering what all the fuss was about. Yes 200hp atw... With a stroked 2zz, exhaust, headers, cams and short ratio box. Its a beast. BKS, i thought u were a member on owf, you would have seen it on there.
  18. mine. Its horsepower at the wheels not kw, and its slightly below 200, but yes that is the truth. And no intake, standard intake system. Oh and its definately still na.
  19. woo another 2 yr old thread good job guys
  20. if your ZRE isnt acheiving lift, it must be under achieving. Take it back to the dealer and say "my lift is broke"
  21. way to bring up a thread from the grave. But im interested... how, and why did you get a car to drive you to the forum? I thought thats what Internet Explorer or Firefox was for.... I dunno...
  22. We have almost 200 HP at the wheels in a Corolla Sportivo, and doesnt even use a ****ty cold air intake. Edit - Fixed my noob mistake
  23. Havent been to the drags, but I find that utterly boring. Awesome, launch your car, flick through the gears til you reach the end, maybe 15 seconds of fun. Where's the skill in that? None. Track days involve more skill, but I still find them boring because they are just lap after lap of the same thing, you always know whats coming up and what the condition will be. Still, people who go to track days are bigger men than drag racers :P Hillclimbs are entertaining and a good way to teach yourself about your car and driving techniques, but I prefer them to track days because its a real competition, and you only get 1 chance at a time. 1 lap, you stuff it up, you stuff your day up. So it teaches you to be concentrating right from the second you start. But, better than all the above is rallying. Driving on dirt is so much more fun than tarmac. Sliding into corners, drifting out, late braking and stopping individual wheels from locking cos they are all on different surfaces. Also, a circuit is max 1-2km of the same thing, over and over again. In most club level rallies, you only have a road book (no pacenotes) so its up to 40km of drive as fast as you can, guessing whats over the next crest or around the corner. In my opinion, rallying requires a lot more skill, a lot more talent and a lot more balls to do it properly. And its just awesome fun. But by all means, I dont mean any disrespect to those of you who like circuit racing, you are out there doing something which is a start, and you are learning which is better than 90% of the people you see on the street. Most people I see driving scare me.
  24. and if you do buy a new buckle, buy a used passenger side one, because im quite sure they are interchangable, and you will know it has had less use than the drivers side.
