  1. all australian sold cars MUST have side intrusion bars.
  2. wow what a rant. As Azza said, talk to your dealer, ask for a calibration, dont shoot first and ask questions later cos all your gonna do is make a d1ck of yourself. All cars are out these days, speedos arent ever set accurately to combat speeding. perception is reality, very few people can accurately guess their speed without looking at the speedo. Just think, I wonder how many times the speedo has cost you a ticket. Be grateful.
  3. NRG, i think you missed the point of Fads post. The ecu senses when the oil is warm enough, and then once the engine reaches 6000rpm it triggers oil pressure to push a pin out to "lift" the engine onto the high cam
  4. Take the rear wheels off and adjust the handbrake yourself, its pretty easy.
  5. you should be able to lock the door with the key. Perhaps there is either the door or bonnet sensors that can tell if the door/bonnet is closed/open are stuffed and therefore setting the alarm off. Standard alarm?
  6. Why not keep saving your pennies, sell off the camry and buy a nice new car.
  7. Yes http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?act=Search
  8. mate just contact monkey wrench racing in the states they will sell u everything you need and more.
  9. I'd get it checked too, pretty sure when the realise what they have charged you (if it is wrong) then they can just void your insurance.
  10. I have drove my bosses brand spanking new SS-V a few times and its a bullsh!t semi auto as well. I found I was doing 1 of 2 things. 1. Cruise along in 6th, get to a corner, cos there is no clutch u just turn in and accelerate away in 6th... or 2. Get to the corner, remember to shift down to say 3rd, go through the corner and then leave it in 3rd and start cruising. Dead serious, there is no feel whatsoever. The one thing putting me off the Mitsubishi Evo is the lack of choice when it comes to the models - GSR 5sp Man or Dual clutch semi auto, MR Dual clutch semi auto only. hmmmph.
  11. however, from what I have heard at least Bill was able to get 2 runs in. And i'm 100% sure Bills car would run those numbers day in day out. I guess it depends what is more important to u.
  12. Awesome Bill, simply awesome. Its great to see your personal time and effort that you have put into this project was well worth it, the proof is in the pudding. frighteningly quick whilst being quite reliable. Big congrats and kudos from me
  13. pretty sure the matrix is the sedan in america and they hatch doesnt exist. Prepare for people to say "whats an auris" and then look blankly at you when u reply.
  14. wtf? Its neutral. Thats what its designed for. There is no way in a billion years that that would do any damage, unless u held the throttle open for a good 5 minutes or so. Manual or auto, its no issue at all.
  15. HAHAHA i remember them!! they tried to sneak onto this site and sell stuff without the mods noticing... haha yeah sure.
  16. Come on Rob the rears are easy :P dump that b1tch

    RIP Heath Ledger

Turns out there is a good chance it was an accidental overdose, as the medication was prescription
  20. He used to have an ST205 GT-4, and (i think) a AE112 Levin
  21. Yup, even the newer model evo's will come standard with the Bilstein + Eibach combo. For a Corolla, I do not see the point in spending over $1000 on suspension unless you car is a dedicated track car.
  22. wow you totally missed my point!!! Nice rant though, i'm impressed. Just to refresh your memory.... I agree with most of what you have said, you mistook me taking the role of a devils advocate for those being my personal thoughts. You've kinda gone a little nuts in that post, obviously I have touched a nerve. You're still going on about my first post about the price of regular unleaded is now the same as 98, which i had admitted numerous times was a complete joke. Honestly, I really am not that stupid. Come on, you are studying business at uni still, you should have learnt that at the very basis of life, all you need to survive is food, water and shelter. This is a complete truth, as it ignores any feelings whatsoever. If you simply wanted to stay alive, nothing else is required. Once you move past this (as logic and reality assumes one would) you start getting into wants. Once you factor in current society and emotions, some of these wants do indeed become needs. What I am really getting at is that as a whole, society is a bunch of whingers, yourself and myself included. Nothing is ever good enough for anyone in society, everyone still feels that they have a right to complain about whatever they want to complain about, and that is the whole problem with society. I have never, ever complained about the price of fuel, simply because I have a greater understanding of how the price of fuel is calculated than an ordinary member of the public. The only gripe I have is what I have stated; that people clearly believe they have a right to complain when simply they do not. Why should I have sympathy for people who just complain? There is nothing I or anyone else in this world can do to change the fact, so I ask again, what is the point in complaining? But then again, I'm just a stupid public servant who needs to grow up a little.... excuse me while I fill up my gas guzzling vehicle with high quality fuel that I paid for with my highly inflated government salary. Wait... I didnt hear a complaint.... interesting. /thread

    Fuels Fuels Fuels

Its good work, but you would need to use it for more than 2 weeks each to make the results more consistant. Also ensure that you drive the same distances and areas because that can play a big part. Also, it depends what fuel you ran your car on for the first however many km before you started this comparison, as the ecu will learn the type of fuel you use and tune the car based on that. Therefore something else wont make the car run as efficient until the ecu has relearned the fuel map, and also understandably when you get to your normal fuel the car will react significantly better. And, Mobil 8000 is Caltex Vortex 98, so you dont really need to compare both :P
