  1. Aren't the 122R the non-Sportivo models? I think someone posted here a while back that the Sportivo is either 123 (pre-recall) and 123R (post-recall). Thus both pre-facelift (eg. 03-04) and post-facelift (05) models will have the designation ZZE123R.
  2. people recognise quality, what can I say?
  3. any pics of the finished product?
  4. IMHO, it's only woth doing the LSD if you are changing the clutch +/- flywheel at the same time to save on labour. But gees I want to do it....
  5. It's a 99 Corolla so out of warranty. The 'pinging' noise is not likely to be true pinging or detonation - which occurs with high engine load, advanced timing or poor octane fuel, as it occured when your oil pressure was probably low. It could be symptomatic of engine damage (e.g. bearings). I'd get it checked immediately.
  6. But 8200-8400rpm should be safe, right?
  7. why wait...?
  8. No really, it was for work. I did manage to go to Pike's Peak while in Colorado for a conference though. Unfortunately, I missed the hill climb by a few days and could only get one picture of a race car.... It was a Corolla though, so I'll post it in that section tomorrow.
  9. Also, the torque characteristics will change with atmospheric conditions (temp, pressure etc.) so the optimal lift point would change not only between cars, but also within a car from day to day. That being said, I like the Lotus system of dropping the lift point on upchanges only, so you can more easily stay in lift when changing up.
  10. At least it took me a while - I maintain this is because of the high quality and low spam content of my posts...
  11. Maybe 'cos SAF is closer to Europe than Australia? I paid $620 for mine, which included some freight charges from Sydney, so it wasn't too much more.
  12. This is my favourite car colour.
  13. The Sportivo uses the exact same springs as an Ascent/Conquest/Levin. ← I don't think this is right - if they were the same springs then the stock Sportivo ride height would be the same as the 1ZZ models, which it isn't. Anyway, make me a reasonable offer on my as new, low km, Sportivo springs and they are yours...
  14. I didn't think the Pulsar SSS revved that high ← I have a photo somewhere of the dash while I was doing 205 km/h in a SSS. We were in a hurry to get to Bathurst...
  15. my sportivo springs are for sale...
  16. Hey Sads, you up for an LSD group buy?
  17. It was the other way round on my car - 1.75 inches rear, 1.5 inches front.
  18. 90
  19. I always do :P

    I'm off

In case anyone cares. Unfortunately, I can only escape work for for 3 weeks. Reasons for trip: (1) Conference (2) Seek out trick bits that'll fit on or in my car (3) Lying on a beach in Hawaii for 4 days on the way back Will talk to you all on the other side!
  21. I'm sure to get flamed for this, but maybe it's time for some new moderators...?
  22. **** like this thread
  23. Maybe the people stopping to ask you questions are also cross-dressers, and can detect their own kind...
