Not 'til July now, but I'll let you know... ;)
  2. and put in a centre and rear diff...
  3. There must be a yin/yang thing going on with QLDers - talk slow, write fast (and often). :P
  4. **** off slow Mazda boy!!! Er, I mean welcome. Sorry, force of habit when I see an SP23.... I do love that colour on a car though - I wish Toyota weren't so stingy with their paint selection.
  5. White pre-facelift Sportivo in NorthEast suburbs of Adelaide. First white one I've ever seen here and you think we'd get more snowflakes with our cold Winters...
  6. please kill me
  7. Eibach's propaganda states that they are designed to be used with the stock shockers. This is the reason I went with them, and not cheaper Kings or whatever. Well that, and they're German (almost Viking).
  8. Sorry to hear, but how do you deadlock a car? All they need is a screwdriver in the lock, bust it open then bypass the immobiliser. Bye bye car. Just hope it's gone for good, then you can get a new one from insurance. There's nothing worse than getting a stolen car back that's half shagged.

You could try http://www.toyotacarclub.net, but they are mostly drifters. Stick around here and come cruising with the SA Sportivo boys!!!
  10. Put the Corolla T-Sport, Lotus Elise and Exige under a heading of Europe or UK...
  11. Once again, this has all been covered before, as you would have found out if you had used the search function. E.g. http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...wtopic=1036&hl= and http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/inde...howtopic=93&hl= etc. etc. The major difference between i-VTEC and VVTL-i is that the Toyota change point is controlled electronically and mechanically, using an oil pressure check valve and water temperature. VTEC is only controlled electronically, hence is easy to change. Also, as stated the lift change point is at 6000rpm for a reason, as that is where it is most advantageous for this particular engine and cam combination. I do find it interesting though, that the Lotus Exige will change at 5800rpm on upshifts, to more easily stay in lift. The power/torque loss this incurs may not be such a penalty in this case as their car weighs much less than ours, and would still accelerate outrageously whereas we would notice the difference... But given a supercharger or turbo though, like the Exige 240R, and dropping the lift point to 5000rpm then becomes a feasible and desirable change.

  13. Welcome to TOCAU and to Team Silver!
  14. OK, you started it..... Sik wheels mate!
  15. There is an S2000 in my car park at work and I always look jealously at his antenna. Of course, I wouldn't steal it though.... ;)
  16. Unlike the Melbourne crew, I'm up for runs any time, any place... Paradox - I find the best way to "organise" a cruise is to ask Big Jon or Brian from TCC to do it :D . The last one was huge, 100+ cars including (this was my favourite) - a turbo NSX. I think Doctony was there at the start of the last one, but didn't cruise. I'm keen to get a good handful of Sportivos together at least. No one will play with me!
  17. No he didn't fit it. Don't you think that if he cannot guarantee gains unless he fits it, and he is unable to fit it, he should not sell it? ← Also, what possible reason could there be for differences in gains due to whoever bolts it up to the cat? I would suggest that unless it was installed backwards or something completely incompetent, that the gains are most likely to be the same whoever the technician.
  18. Dude, I expect to arrive at an estimated sample size of n=5 per cell, that you have performed the correct power analysis using the mean difference and variability in power gains expected with the CES system? If not, what kind of PhD student do you call yourself?
  19. I hit lift (and the redline) at 50km. At least didn't do it out of the dealership like some....
  20. If you change the wheels, it'll no longer be stock and you'll need a new name and signature...

Good to see someone else has Paint Shop Pro!
  22. My Eibach's dropped about 38mm front, 45mm rear - which was good, as the car sat higher at the back anyway. The price was a lot higher than for Kings, but I get German quality...
  23. Welcome forum noobs, especially the team silver rookies.
  24. Can't you just take off the a/c belt? You'd still have a weight penalty, but it would be much easier to re-commission next Summer... I've never really looked closely so excuse my ignorance, but is there a separate altenator belt or is it all in one? If there's only one belt for both a/c and alternator, it would be more stuffing around finding a replacement belt, but as everyone acknowledges - well worth it for the gains.
