  2. Another dumb n00b question :P What is an autotimer? snakes
  3. Dumb n00b question. What is an SRI and how is it different to a CAI? snakes
  4. LOR! :D Could you please provide some evidence or a link to a reference where this may be stated? snakes
  5. PLCEBO PLCEB0 PLC3BO PLC3B0 Pls don't take B) snakes
  6. The issue I have with the stock head unit is that if you play an MP3 track, it always reverts back to the beginning of the track whenever you turn the engine back on. A normal CD Audio track resumes exactly where you left off. snakes
  7. Add to that the fuel filter. Might be clogged / have water/gunk in it. snakes
  8. Hoo boy, being a proud Sportivo owner of 7 months, what am I in for..... Maybe we could make a list of good Toyota Service Centres (along with the bad) so people can vote with their feet rather than go in cold turkey not knowing what the level of service is like. Also Toyota may see this list and look at the Service Centre's getting the most complaints and actually do something about it (pigs might fly hehe) :D So far I have had the 5K service at Chatswood Toyota Service Centre (Artarmon) and 10K service at Pennant Hills Toyota (both in Sydney). No problems as yet (touch wood ;) ) snakes
  9. Cos its the Corolla "Rice" model snakes
  10. Cheers, thanks for the tips guys :D Tim / Snakes
  11. Hi Fad, Thanks for your reply. I guess I should have stated that I have a stock Sportivo, so its not possible to run a 3.5mm headphone jack cable to an input on the stereo. It has to be a RF transmitter. In the long run, yes I will look at buying a new head unit, but thats just not possible at this point in time. snakes
  12. Hey All, I bought an iPod car radio adaptor a few months ago & it puts out a weak signal, the radio cuts out & suffers from interference which is annoying to no end. Just wondering if anyone here uses an iPod in their car & can recommend a good adaptor. Preferably with a charger inbuilt. snakes
  13. Nope, but I will today :D snakes
  14. So if one were interested in buying a CES exhaust, being based in NSW, would you buy it yourself & have it shipped or is there a dealer/fitter in Sydney that you could recommend. Secondly, what sort of cost are you looking at? snakes
  15. Hmmm, sounds a bit strange to me. Although it has probably made the problem disappear, I doubt it has addressed the root cause of the problem (something that Toyota seems to be good at avoiding.) snakes
  16. I'm no mechanic, but did they check the air con unit or the electrics? Maybe the air con unit or the fan is drawing more power from the engine than before- could be on its way out....... Also any problem that has appeared & is occurring regularly should be able to be rectified. Its only a matter of locating the source of the issue through trial & error. snakes
  17. Saw a blue stivo last night along Beecroft Rd / Pennant Hills Rd Also 2 stivos parked together in Davidson (new + pre facelift) on Saturday afternoon. snakes
  18. I have an Oct 05 build Stivo & it has the sticky gear change / clutch issue. It will be going in for its first service in February, has anyone here dealt with Chatswood Toyota or Pennant Hills Toyota for servicing? Also are there any other fixes/recalls I should take up with the Mechanic? So far it seems to be running quite nicely - very tight, but still nice. Cheers Tim
  19. Or looking at it in your rear view mirror In this case - unlikely :D Tim
  20. Just hit 2000kms in my stivo & I've filled up 4 times, so an average of 500kms per tank. Thats usually from full to the brim until the empty light is about to come on. I rarely use the air con & drive it approx 40kms per day in varying modes from sedately to hitting lift in 1st & 2nd depending upon my mood (and the music playing) at the time. Tim
  21. Hard to say. Not being a mechanic, I guess it would be through trial & error - i.e. replace battery, try & start car - if it starts thats great, if not, then look at other components that may have failed. Could turn out to be quite an expensive mistake for you (fingers crossed otherwise!) snakes
