For reference though, I do use a Lukey Turbo (Turkey Lurbo) muffler and I am happy with my choice.

  3. I no nothing about turbos or anything but sorry to hear that happened man. I can imagine you would of been gutted baddd. But hot as )(*&^%^&*( ride man! You did real well. Would love to see this in person one day. Maybe the next annual in melbourne? haha
  4. Thanks for them pictures dj! It seems like the set up is very similar to that of the aurion so i guess i should be fine. Ill make sure they put a heat shield there when the exhaust shop does the job. Reason why i asked this as in the US built camrys they have the charcoal canister there and it prevented a few people from going dual so i just wanted to make sure i could go dual safely before i did anything once again, thank you both for your replies!
  5. Thanks for that mate! much appreciated! I was afraid to hear that actually. The charcoal or carbon canister (i hear them use that term in the states) is actually located at that exact location in the USA. In AUS however as you stated its the fuel filler neck and breather. That being said...would it be safe to run a exhaust set up through there? (muffler and piping)
  6. Depends ;) If we are anything alike (just sayin') this would be my rationale P plater = nice practical care. Cheap to run, not a bomb, looks good. cheap on fuel. ei my camry or your rolla Full licence when single = Sexy sports car. 2 doors. (2 or 4 seater). Head turner. plenty of power. single life woot woot. ei 350z full licence with a family = sexy luxury car. 5 seater. enough room for the kids yet have enough power behind it to keep it entertaining ei lexus Me being 19, id go for the 350z :)
  7. Is hoping this mystery component is not going to stop me from getting dual exhaust!

  8. I was wondering what this component circled in red was? Aurion experts could help me out in this too Since the aurion and camry chassis is the same - if you were in the aurion you would be looking through the left exhaust hole (i now have a left exhaust hole due to my rear lip kit. Both are in the same spot) Thanks in advance!
  9. Nuh not standard Vibrant universal muffler 2.25in, 3inch out
  10. How much (if any) did you increase your piping size by?
  11. 2 cannons? or 2 oval shaped mufflers?

  12. Hey fellas. im upgrading to a dual exhaust system and i just wanted to gather some info and maybe clear up some stuff a few exhaust shops had told me today. This is what they told me; Exhaust shop 1) Willing to build a Y pipe from the res back. Stock piping is 2.25 inchs as it is. If he supplies to cannon exhausts (dont really want but i like the stainless steel/chrome look), job will be around 850 dollars. Asked him if he could do 2.25inch piping and he said its fine. Wont lose back pressure or anything at all by upgrading to a dual exhaust. Exhaust shop 2) Willing to build Y pipe from the res back. However, this guy took the time and explained the job to me. He said if i kept the 2.25inch piping from the res back i will actually lose power. Since im breaking the pipes into 2, he said i should use 2 inch piping to the mufflers and chuck a 4 inch muffler tip at the end. Makes sense, but i dont know how accurate his knowledge is as 2 different places (reputable) are telling me 2 different things. Only thing i dont like about this is the 4 inch tip. I like how my vibrant muffler goes from 2,25 to a 3 inch tip at the end. Another bad thing with this guy is i HAVE to buy mufflers through him. He said if i supply mufflers the job will be approx 700, if i dont and he gets the mufflers..the job will still be 700. But dodgy which i brought up and he said i have to pay for labour rarar exhaust shop 3). Again, willing to do the job but didnt explain the job to me. I had to explain to him what exactly i wanted and it seemed like he was just agreeing with me. If i supply the mufflers, he will build the Y pipe from the res back for $250. And around 600 if i didnt I like the price of exhaust shop 3, but i dont like how it seems like they dont know anything. Hence why im putting it out here now so i could just get whatever i need and tell them to do the job for a cheap price. I like the knowledge of exhaust shop 2, he seemed like he knew what he was talking about but im not convinced on that set up of making the piping smaller Exhaust shop 1 seemed like he was just trying to make a sale. But its a very reputable store on my end of town, and if i can get exactly what i want done (without losing any back pressure) ill most likely go to him for the job. So here are my questions; I like the sound of the vibrant muffler, but upgrading to dual vibrant in stainless steel chrome? Would it produce the same sound? if not, would the sound be deeper/louder? or more high pitch and quieter? If I kept the piping at 2.25 inchs from the res back and keep both piping to the dual exhausts at 2.25 inchs and then slowly increase it to 3 inch tips like my current SINGLE exhaust (current muffler = 2.25inch inlet, 3 inch outlet), will i be losing back pressure and essentially losing low end power as im going to dual set up? Or is exhaust shop 2 correct and should i decrease the piping size to 2 inchs and just chuck a 3 inch muffler tip at the end? What do you guys think? I wanna try get this done in 2 weeks. And right now im looking into importing the mufflers from the states! Any info would be great fellas! Thanks in advance!

  17. fml. missed the delivery of my cai -.-

  18. Im gonna chime in here.. for the 07-09 (maybe 2010+) camrys and regards to that STOCK silver metal bracket your talking about which helps hold the bulb in place; not all HID bulbs will fit in there as easy as you made it out to be. Most wont even fit through that hole (i know my one didnt). if you didnt buy your HIDs from rukusG (but i recommend you do) and you find out the bulb doesnt fit through there this is what you need to do.... What i had to do was buy a similar bracket as linked here http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2-x-BMW-H7-AUDI-USE-HID-XENON-BULB-HOLDER-ADAPTOR-/280517809174?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item41502a1416 Note how there is an opening at the bottom of the picture of the H7 bulb adaptor which the stock one doesnt? Yes its for a BMW/audi but i made it work for the camry. Insert the bulb through there and then mount the bulb in. The adaptor is not an exact fit but all you need to do is fold the 2 tabs located at the back of the actual headlight which holds the bulb in place. Fold it enough so it holds your bmw/audi adaptor in place. One can put some rubber silicon around base of the bulb which has the bmw/audi adaptor around it so it doesnt move in the bmw/audi adaptor if one chooses. I just did this for an experiement and piece of mind but it should work fine without it. Ill post up what it looks like when i pop the hood to install my cai today or tomorrow. note; ive had this on for about a month now. my ride is stiff as im on coils and ridin low and there has been no issues in regards to the HID itself and the bmw/audi bracket i used.
  19. Buying something like wheels overseas = knowing that your the only one (or a few) in australia that has it. Hate (well not hate but you know) seeing other people having the same thing as me (hence why i have a done up camry LOL)
  20. oh how i cant wait to get my full licence
