  2. I get mine done by mehanics who used to work for local dealership, left and set up their own buisiness many years ago. I had my camry serviced with them for 4 years and now they look after my sx6, and much cheaper than dealership servicing.
  3. 2007 model purchased may 2009 55,000 now has 106,000. still going strong.
  4. eBay mate. There are sellers there that ship to Australia. Just go to ebay.com.au and search 'Camry K&N intake' then on the search results page, scroll down and select all items from international sellers. This then shows those that offer shipping to Australia. thanks again daryl, was typing in wrong again.
  5. I think you hit the nail on the head, efficency vs economy.
  6. Im having trouble finding an SRI for my car, found one in the states, but doesn't ship overseas, any suggestions ?
  7. are these stickers still around or are they gone ? im in tassie.

  9. Im sure they aim at the front bumper, im sure if they aimed any higher the signal may bounce of yor windsceen, looks like either you were very lucky or he needs to go back to gun school.
  10. scott kirwan
  11. I too have found the aircon not as effective as previous models, but it works better on recirculate rather than fresh. but like daryl says window tinting will help, i have not done this myself yet.
  12. I was personallythinking of a scoop like that, but now I've seen one NO NO NO !
  13. If you get stuck into your local dealer and you have warranty, they will get the 2009 software update ecu, the head of diagnostics came for a run in mine heard what it was doing 10 mins later the ecu was on order FREE.
  14. Now you're a thinker. Actually, this is what SupaTouring (David) was thinking would be a good idea (discussed with him a couple of weeks back)... and he has some good advice and suggestions. Main thinking behind this is because the bends in the pipe look quite good as they are and the crush is probably the point of restriction. on closer inspection of those crush sections they are also "dimpled" on the inside too, so when I go ahead I will ge pics of how narrow they are. be like a bypass op for the aurion.
  15. I've spoken with an exhaust shop or two. It is possible to maintain the length using an appropriate bend and then merging it neatly. The bend shouldn't cause any restrictions so they say. I never inquired about the advantages etc though which was stupid of me. Like I said, I will wait for the dyno results and if the improvement does not seem significant (relatively since it is a dyno test after all), I will choose the equal length option. the more I look at pics, I wonder if the crush section be cutout from just after the o2 sensor on the rear bank and just before the crush point on the front bank, put in the new merge to collector, therefore the best of both worlds more equal lenth pipes and no need to relocate the o2 sensors.
  16. You don't need an inspection don't you if your car is under 5 years old right? If that's the case, you should be fine. Otherwise it needs to be enclosed (for NSW). I'm not sure what your registration inspection covers though. A NSW local would have to answer that. with mine being a taxi, it gets inspected twice yearly, and there is no problem having it in open space here. had the same setup on the camry for 4 years.
  17. that was a good buy for a prodigy, I got my 07 sx6 in may this year similar k's in melbourne for $24,300 at least 8 to 10 k cheaper than any in tassie. only extra was flying over and bringing it back on the boat. Wow, thats an excellent price. Did you get it from a dealer or private sale? That was from a dealer, they had original price of 28k.
  18. You can find them on eBay for around USD$250 plus around USD$80 for shipping. If you can get shipping cheaper than USD$40 from Autoanything, than that would be a good price. add says free shipping, doesn't say if price in aud or usd, might look around. I got mine for $380 Australian delivered on e-bay. $100 of that was for shipping but I recieved it from the states in less than one week. You just have to compare totals as some plces sell cheaper but charge more for shipping. I haven't forgoten about posting the videos and will try and do so next week when I get some time off work. I will check into this price, cant afford it till the new year and Ill get the y pipe done too.

  20. where is the best place to get K&N short ram ? saw it in "autoanything" for $292. is there a better price or better site to look at ?
  21. I must have the luckiest car on the road never had problems with dash rattles ( the occasional sqeaking if I put my fat leg against it ) intermediate spline issue, always in a straight line. just the tranny ecu ( thanks to this forum "daryl" ) and the oil hose. Ive done 104k still going strong.

  23. all depends what colour it fits with. it dosen't fit with the white, mabe the black or similar dark coulor.
  24. Standard Aurions are around 192hp at the wheels but 200Kw at the engine, so there is probably slightly less loss through the drive trains due to them being front wheel drive. You'd be surprised at how much loss there is despite it being a FWD. If a stock Aurion was 192hp, that is 143 kW at the wheels. That's more along what SupaTouring was saying. Anyways, you now have one thing left.... and that is the 1/4 mile. This will show if changing the power/torque curve has made things better or worse. Maximum power is all well and good, but it all depends where it is. K&N also quoted 192hp at the wheels during their testing of the standard Aurion. All dyno's give different reading, that's why I should have got a before and after test. I might take my car to another dyno and pull 220 and then another and get 210. As, you said the 1/4 mile would be a good test but I simply do not have the time as I work two jobs and have a family. I am happy with the results and proved the Y-pipe is do-able. I'll try and get some videos up over the next few days. well done mkay if its something that gives it a better sound without loosing power or torque, im in. I think with all the fiddeling with my SRI ( it seems to be a daily thing ) Im going to get the K&N SRI
  25. not sure about digital tv either, that was an option with the other units ( you had to buy dgital unit seperate ) and with the guys down here the digital areial supplied diddn't work, but digital is touchy on standard tv with our hills.
