  1. G'day The tweeter cover simply pops off, you just have to pull at it. From there you can unscrew the stock tweeter and its up to you what you want to put in its place.
  2. Thanks for all the great comments everyone :) Its always cool to know that my build blog is actually being read ahahah :P For now, one more addition, I need rails made up but we'll sort that out soon. that.guy: No, I don't really have any intention of changing the rear speakers at this stage for the simple fact that most of the time, no one sits there. Any particular reason you ask?
  3. Hey there, Sorry if i missed it in the thread, but do you have the front grille still up for sale? (be it the C-one or the JDM variant)? Thanks in advance Alf
  4. Hmm, can I interrupt and ask what the Autoglym 'equivalent' to the Meguiar's Ultimate Compound is? Alf
  5. Somehow I think your car would outshine mine, Dave :P They were just taken in the industrial part of canning vale, outside a warehouse on a Sunday afternoon. I'm always looking for good locations, and have been kicked out many a times haha.
  6. Man that shifter is HOT hey, what do you mean by 're-burnt'? Literally? With a blow torch??
  7. Thankyou :) Just two more for now. Side profile.

You'll lose a lot of distance with those ones, they're quite heavily tinted blue. Give the Phillips X-treme visions a shot, whiter, but still good distance wise. They're not cheap, but get them off e-bay. X-treme
  9. I installed mine about a fortnight ago, have to say I'm loving it. While it does require a bit more effort (in terms of arm strength) to shift, I love the feeling, the directness of each gearchange. The instructions can be downloaded for free off the TWM website. I'd also change the base bushings to tighten up the shift feel. As for the cable bushings, I'm yet to do that, but there is a DIY floating around the workshop section. If you want to see photos, check out my build thread. Cheers Alf
  10. I was gonna do something like this for my fogs: Clicky Cos I like the JDM yellow fog light look... ahahah
  11. It probably will, but its entirely up to you. Its because the headlight housing of an 03 sportivo is a reflector design, not meant to take HIDs so the beam pattern will be fairly dispersed. That doesn't stop people from running HIDs on said cars though. My route was to run HIDs in the foggies, that way it was bright but low down as not to crap ppl off. And maybe run something like the http://www.powerbulbs.com/product_detail.asp?prod=81phillips extreme vision in the main headlights instead? Alf
  12. Quick update, finally got around to doing a mini-shoot. For the photographers out there specs are as follows: Nikon D40 (baby) Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 AFS lens. Thanks for looking :) Alf
  13. Wow davo you converted to autoglym? :o :o I personally use a combination of both, seems to work well for me so far, especially on a black car. I use the super resin polish and then seal over with the NXT 2.0 Beads water like you wouldn't believe :D Alf
  14. Thanks :) I haven't done the shifter bushes yet, TWM wanted about $60 for them and I think I read somewhere that you could make them out of skateboard bearings. What do they actually do to the feel though? At the moment, i'm pretty satisfied with the shift feel, except when it is actually in the gear 'gate' it does have some lateral movement. Will changing the shifter bushings help this feeling at all? Also reverse gear seems more of an effort to grab now. Do i just need to work out more? :P haha
  15. Lol no according to facebook it wasn't haha i did ask him :P
  16. Light coloured ZZE with black rims on nicholson rd friday night, JDM tail light mod done. Anyone here?
  17. Wow, I'm extremely pleased at TWMs shipping time :D :D :D Delivered to my work address today. Neatly packed with shrinkwrap. First I got to install the new base bushings, here's a comparison between the stock rubber ones and the TWM alloy ones. Apologies for the iPhone fail photos... The only gripe I had is the new bolts they provided were metric (1/2" from memory) to replace the 12mm stock ones. I'm lazy to change socket heads like that >.> haha. Removing the stock shifter cap trying not to damage it was by far the hardest part (its made of plastic)... Comparison: Features 40% reduced throw and 2.5" length reduction Shifter-less haha TWM installed. And here we go. Coupled with the TWM "Desert Eagle" shift knob. She's so much more of a pleasure to drive now :D
  18. Thanks guys ^.^ Quick update, dunno why it took so long for Toyota to find me the OEM filter, but we got there in the end. Just did an oil dump today: Mileage: 86 xxx KMs Oil used: FUCHS TITAN SUPER GTO 10W-30 Oil filter: Toyota OEM part # 90915-YZZE1 First impressions of the oil? It was a very hot day today (38 max), but to be honest the engine seemed to be noisier again (almost akin to the sound I got out of using the Penrite HPR 5). The previous Castrol Edge from last service still seemed fairly golden (even after the skidpan day) and was still nice and thin :) I'll drive around for a few weeks before reporting back with my verdict. Ruimond: I very much do love the look of the rear lip, its pretty pricey though isn't it? Next mod cosmetically I'm thinking of the grille, but that will be after getting my rear sway. That's it for now, thanks for looking :) I have ordered a TWM shifter early last week so that should be well on its way. Will post up when it gets here.
  19. Actually what the... I just checked and it seems you are right :S Where did I get the 0W-40 from? :S :S
  20. Quick update, more for the purpose of keeping this 'blog' for my own references than anything else. Managed to track this down, a lot harder to find at a decent price than I thought it would be. I even called the head office of Fuch's themselves to ask for distributors. And they seemed unsure as to whether this Super GTO was a fully or semi synth. If someone could clarify that for me that would be tops :) Up till now, I've changed the oil twice (every 5000km), starting off with whatever stuff Toyota uses (some tell me its Castrol) from the previous owner as he had her serviced at Toyota. First try was Penrite HPR 5 (semi-synth), while decent, it seemed to make the engine a lot noisier. Next up I gave Castrol EDGE 5W-30 (fully synth) a shot, and this is what I had in during the skidpan day. From 'seat of the pants' experience I quite liked this one, but it worries me that Castrol themselves actually specify their 0W-40 for the 2ZZ. Cos for the price of the 0W-40 I'd be looking at something like Mobil 1 5W-30 instead. If someone could clarify this for me that would also be great haha. That's it for now. Thanks for reading :) Alf
  21. If you could confirm that link it would be great, as I am also looking at buying an Injen CAI for my '03 sportivo. Referring to the photo, it MAY be just a generic image they use up there for advertising purposes. Cheers
  22. Also in love with your photos, I'm going to hazard a guess and say that you left the exposure open while highlighting different areas with the torch? Either way, looks fantastic, will be keen to see this beast during the meet if you're coming :) Alf
  23. +1 If you're really after a better ground, follow superdave's grounding tutorial in the DIY section. I'm pretty sure you can do that for < $35 and it'll be much more beneficial.
