  1. Should be good, count me in, but might bugger off after South Perth as I have to work the next day. Alf
  2. Which ones were you thinking of going? If you're purely after more light, go for something like the Phillips Power 2 night: Or if you want a cleaner white colour (looks cool but i personally think vision suffers when its foggy/or stormy) get something like the phillips blue vision. Bulbs are just a direct replacement, out with the old and in with the new. Just remember not to touch the glass with your fingers. Alternatively you could go the HID route, with ebay offering a lot of cheap kits in this day and age. But you might annoy others especially since the 03 sportivo doesn't have projectors. Have fun :) Alf Edit: Foggies are HB4, the L-shaped one.
  3. Yeh I should be good. I'll be celebrating Singles Awareness Day on the 14th anyway. Otherwise known as SAD. Alf
  4. Thanks for the comments guys :) Now for some bad news. Shortly after I just replaced my antenna (CX-7 one), and used thread locker to put it in this time in the hope that it wouldn't be easily stolen, someone decided to snap it off. So now the base turret is broken :( A minor issue, but it annoyed me for a day. Onto brighter news, attended an AHG driver performance training day. Some shots: I learnt so much more about my car, the way she handles on the limits, and that sportivo brakes are actually pretty damn decent. *until they fade :P - Davo: Extremely keen on turning out the next meetup, want to be able to put faces to usernames. Haha it looks like you don't meet that often though, so I'll make the most of the times you do :D
  5. Was this going to be the aurion only cruise? If not I'm definitely keen C: Alf
  6. This is a generic sort of answer, but maybe try bleeding the whole system rather than just the front passenger side. As in start from rear passenger moving towards the master cylinder topping up the fluid as required. Good luck. P.S Use axle stands next time, lucky you weren't under the car :S
  7. Keen for photos too, interested in the short shifter and possibly the grille. But yeh someone's already asked so they get first preference :P Alf
  8. My contribution - Emotion CR Kai 16x7 +38 Apologies I couldn't be bothered cleaning them first :P
  9. Apologies for bumping such an old topic - went to install my RSM today and have quadruple checked that I haven't gotten the wires wrong. The unit powers on but won't display RPM or speed. So I have at least the ground and power wires tapped correctly. I am referring to diagram T10-E from that PDF. Any ideas? The RSM works, it came out of my old S13 silvia. Car is an '04 Corolla Sportivo (2ZZ). Thanks in advance Alf Edit: Just went for a short drive, the speed reading works, just not the RPM.
  10. To start with, to tell a proper sportivo make sure it has the 2ZZ engine. If you don't know how to distinguish that from the standard 1ZZ that comes with the normal ZZE corollas start looking it up. Also the engine number should start with 2ZZ. Someone else might like to take over now as I'm not that clued in to any inherent problems with the car. I'd just say make sure it doesnt leak oil, coolant, run a compression test, etc etc. Usual stuff when you buy a used car. Happy hunting :)
  11. Just wanted to let other's know, as a sort of 'feedback' if you will, don't hesitate to buy off Jason, he's a good guy and posts stuff quickly. Cheers for the tail lights :) If you're interested in where they ended up they're right here :P Alf
  12. @ sikwitit: The ride is much and much fine, definitely harder than stocks but I've got them set on setting 2 (2/30 where 30 is the hardest damper). She definitely sticks a lot more with the lower centre of mass though. A decent compromise I would say. But I used to drive an S13 with 8/6 kg/mm FR/RR respectively so that might not tell you much haha :P Quick update, the rims were not actually on the cards, so I'm gonna lay off the modding for at least 2 months. But these were purchased about a week ago off a fellow forum member Jason [MRRUNX] Had them delivered quick smart, definitely recommended as a seller. And the amount of cushioning he put into the box... lol Cheers mate :) ADM vs JDM Passenger side in Out with the old :P And done :D :D :D . JDM as FVCK. Well that's it for now. Cheers for looking.
  13. Keen on a toyota one in perth, want to put some faces to usernames :P
  14. Thankyou :) It's always encouraging cos I try to do whatever I can myself, being a student doesn't help >.< For now, I present her as she stands (nice and dirty...) Cheers
  15. So, this is where my username comes from. My impulsiveness >.> Picked these up second hand off a seller on SilviaWA. Couldn't turn them down at the price. Profile is 55 rather than 50, but the tyres are too good to throw out. Still has heaps of tread. So I'll be raising the front a bit tomorrow morn so she doesn't scrape. Looks like my plans for a short shifter and CAI will be put on hold for now haha.
  16. Just from the picture that looks like its oxidised. Have you tried a metal polish like the one Meguairs do?
  17. Thanks for the comments guys :) Andy, I thought I'd throw away the modding after selling the S13. Sadly it keeps running through my veins, I can't leave a car stock it seems. So I'll definitely let you know if I'm keen haha. Question, feedback is welcome: CAI or rear sway bar first? Thinking of INJEN and an ULTRA RACING one respectively. Cheers :)
  18. Just updating for anyone who looks up installation of these in the future. The final conclusion i reached is that it seemed a better idea to remove the third stud, rather than stuff around grinding into the chassis. Took it to a mate's workshop who had a hydraulic press. As a side note, superdave has mentioned that the corolla and the ZZT celica share the same top mounts, the celica has 3 studs, possibly why these top mounts were designed as a universal fit - and hence needed that one bolt to be removed. Cheers for the help guys :) Alf
  19. ^ Thanks man, loving your optional grille (in your photo) - considering one but i prefer to mod handling wise before cosmetics Well. Finally I've had success. I headed over to a mate's workshop where he had a hydraulic press. Which we didn't use :P We just used a BFH (big Fk-ing hammer) This was the outcome. After a bit of stuffing around, we finally got the rears in (they didn't line up perfectly at first, the bottom mount was angled a bit weirdly. Original front ride height. Stock vs BC aftermarket. And we're done on the front too. Whole car, with proper camera :P Will have a final tinker with it tomorrow morning, front's a bit lower than i'd like it to be, and the rear needs to be dropped more. But went for a quick drive (dampers set at minimal hardness) and seems relatively comfortable for a daily. But I used to drive an s13 so that probably doesn't say much haha. Thats it for now :)
  20. You're in luck. He's selling them :P For sale
  21. On the bright side, I managed to score this second hand. Plan on using the bottom DIN slot to mount my A'pexi RSM.
  22. So just an update - more for the information of others as I find there wasn't much information on BC coilovers. For those who have followed my 'help me' thread in the other section, you would know that when I pulled out the stocks and compared them to the BC's, I found that there was an extra bolt getting in the way of installation. I tried with a moderate amount of force to remove this, as it did look removable. Used a hammer, and even a mate's vice to try to push out this interfering bolt. This is the chassis-welded nut that is in the way of seating. While the bolts line up perfectly, the fact that this is a threaded nut prevents me from inserting the coilover properly. The stock arrangement uses a bolt from the underside, hence that welded nut. I did not want to damage the coils, so i called it quits and put the stock suspension back in (as its my daily driver). Called Justjap on tuesday (first day back after the long weekend), who contacted BC sports in Taiwan, and as of Wednesday night, I'm eagerly awaiting their response. For those who are doubting Justjap at this point, don't, I have found their service to be extremely good, I received my coilovers in 3 working days (just before christmas as well!). They have been helpful looking into my query, we are just waiting for a response from BC Sports at this point. So that's the info for anyone considering BC coilovers (the BR GOLD series), I wouldn't at this point, until they sort it out. I'm not too keen at grinding the nut OR the coilover bolt for that matter. Interestingly enough, a bit of googling seemed to indicate that the V1 (RED) series - at $100 cheaper - do not suffer from this problem. Without knowing anyone who's tried these on the ZZE corollas I can't say. But a thought to bear in mind :P Cheers.
  23. Hi Hu55si, Thanks for the input, the problem is since the aftermarket coilovers have that third 'stud', i cannot physically mount the coilovers properly. as in the welded nut is in the way. (see photos) This is why users above such as prozak have suggested attacking the coilover stud instead. Both of which are options i'm not that keen on. I have spent a good deal of time over the weekend banging away at the coilover stud though, and even attacking it with a vice. Still no deal.
  24. It seems most people have gone this way. I have contacted JustJap today and they contacted BC sports in Taiwan to look into it. For now I'm not too keen on messing with the chassis. From what i've looked into online, it seems the red V1 series (at $100 LESS) does not have this problem. I find this really weird. But i'll keep this thread updated.
