  1. If you would like to get the BCs a little cheaper than justjap do them please PM me, I've got a supplier than can send australia wide. Alf
  2. Not bagging you man, but this isn't entirely true. It needs to be fitted by an exhaust shop cos a flange needs to be welded on. Its also quite noisy IMO, but to each their own. also, i'm also in perth, and there's a possibility that Mr Prozac is joining us.
  3. haha that doesn't sound like a good thing, could you please elaborate? thanks for the feedback guys.
  4. Hey all, another noob question: I have recently ordered a new clutch, and had it fitted by a family mechanic. As I was interstate at the time I couldn't actually foresee the process so got a mate to drop the car off and let the mechanic take care of the ordering. Based on forum reviews, and talking to fellow members, I decided on the Exedy Heavy Duty TKY-7334HD (I believe a lot of you run this). I specifically gave this number to the mechanic and he ordered it in, (he isn't a 'performance tuner' so he doesnt usually deal with heavy duty or high performance clutches). I picked the car up when i got back, but upon looking at the box it was badged RPM rather than Exedy. What I fail to understand was, the mechanic was solely working off my model number, which i got off the exedy website itself. A quick google revealed RPM to be a completely different company (Seemingly). I don't believe its the fault of the mechanic for ordering wrong parts, because he ordered using the number I gave him. Has anyone heard of RPM, are they per chance a company that uses Exedy parts (e.g. pressure plates etc) to build clutches? Cos that's the only reason I can think of for the supplier to send this clutch. Thanks in advance Alf
  5. Yeh i was quite devastated cos the main thing was I did not want drone. And yes it does total up to be quite expensive. For me i'm slightly luckier cos I have a mate who is a metal worker so labour was not too expensive. Maybe i exaggerated when i said 'amazing'. Its definitely a lot quieter after i 'modified' it, and yes the noise does go out the back of the car. Also, not so much drone and it actually isn't very much louder than stock when purely idling or holding speed (little to no throttle) - eg highway cruising. It is however, noisier when you put your foot down, and that's what I was chasing. But all in all, an expensive lesson. I know how highly reputable their systems are on this forum (which is what lead me to purchase one) but i PERSONALLY would not have done it had i listened to it on a car prior to purchase.
  6. Man I wish I read this before I bought mine (~2 months ago now). I agree completely - I thought it was just me being old. Anyway my solution - I ditched their muffler (end one) and replaced it with a bigger unit from HITECH - they do subaru aftermarket systems. It now sounds amazing, but with all the cost involved i would recommend someone chasing this route to get a custom made one by a reputable exhaust shop in their area.
  7. PM away man, i was kinda hoping you'd be the one to answer this question. Might have to shop around then :/ Thing is i'm a bit cautious about who i'd trust to leave my car with...
  8. I'm going to bump this topic to re-check the current pricing on clutch installs :/ cos what i have recently been quoted is FAR above the $350 that the OP got quoted. And its still 2012 right? I'm located in perth, car is a 2004 corolla sportivo, and i'm chasing an Exedy HD clutch. I've been quoted ~$1.4k for supply and fit, including fluids etc. This also includes machining of the flywheel. What's everyone's take on this? Cheers Alf P.S clutch is an Exedy 7334HD.
  9. The black Sportivo on BBSs is sex. Does anyone have actual rim specs? I'm having major issues finding wide 16" rims in good offset/ 4x100 PCD. Alf
  10. A quick search of the forums netted me this exact same problem i'm experiencing now. My only difference from tiet is that I haven't got any clicking/knocking sound, and this issue has surfaced out of the blue, I haven't hit anything or run over anything. Has anyone confirmed a solution? EDIT: and also, is it safe to drive in the meantime?
  11. Apologies, tried to PM you but your inbox is full. Just wanted to know whether these were anodized coated, i.e. do they start flaking off? Cheers in advance Alfred
  12. it rattles all the time. The system is off for now, as aside from the rattling i found it much too loud for my liking (maybe i'm too old). I'm getting it modified with a custom Hi-tech muffler to quieten the droning. Alf
  13. 1 finger! hahah that's what i'm set on :) just take speedbumps at angles
  14. This is EXACTLY what i think the issue is, we're looking into it. There seems to be scratches where the bend contacts the torsion beam. Thanks for all the comments guys, will keep this posted. Alf
  15. I find just using a little water to moisten it helps, and water evaporates so it wont hang around. (don't go using any sort of oil)
  16. Without trying to badmouth anything, does anyone know why the hangers on the CES exhaust are fitted pointing the opposite direction to the stock ones? they're making things real troublesome... Edit: yes its brand new.
  17. Thanks for the advice, yeh called them today, they said that we didn't install it properly. I guess i'll see if we can move the flange forward a bit.
  18. Just wanted to drop in some feedback - very good seller, posts item pretty much immediately. Cheers for everything :) Aust Post on the other hand... is a bit dubious.
  19. Hey all, I realise there are a billion threads on this CES exhaust, but after buying one myself and having it fitted, has anyone had issues with rattling? it seems like the curve when it has to clear the rear axle (it goes over it) is hitting the chassis near the spare wheel well and making an extremely annoying rattle. Has anyone else had this issue? We've even modified the exhaust hangers a bit to try to get it to clear the chassis a bit more. I'm lowered on coilovers so lowering the exhaust position does not seem viable. Also, shouldn't it really fit a bit better being engineered for the car? Thanks in advance Alfred
  20. Good question, I can see the speedo perfectly, and the tacho from 3000rpm upwards (all that really matters IMO). Water temp gauge is still there (even though I've got an aftermarket one) but i've completely lost the fuel gauge haha. In the meantime I am still waiting on my CES stuff....
  21. Hahah tint man, its pretty obvious at night being 7%, I shoulda been more clued in and wind down all the windows. But thankfully they just let me go. I saw them eyeing my seat and gauges though. In other news, I have FINALLY (after much much much peer pressure) bit the bullet and ordered a CES catback and CAI. Will post photos up as soon as they arrive. Quick snap of the installed Nardi deep corn. I can see my dash again :P Alf
  22. After a run in with the cops one night, I decided the dash top was not the best spot for placing my gauges, so I decided to order this off Rallyroad.net. Its actually for a BMW but seems to fit quite well on top of the steering column. And the newest modification, I've received this but still waiting on another part to fit it. Coming via EMS japan so I'm *hoping* to have it by the end of this week.
  23. Thanks Andy, it helps a LOT once I stopped being a student, I know everyone says uni are the best years of life, but I was incredibly broke during that period. Possibly expensive hobbies :P as for the specs, they are on the front page, +38 offset, 16x7 all round. Running 205/50R16 rubber. Just before December I decided to give my car an early present, here's a quick facebook snap for now, I'll be doing a proper shoot in the coming weeks. Tint at 7%, highly illegal I know. Yes it is really that dark The Bride Cuga seat... was getting slightly uncomfortable (as I work about half an hour away hence need to commute 1 hour daily) so I borrowed a mate's Bride ERGO II to see whether it'd be any better: Trialed it for a week and decided that the ERGO was not helping my sperm count at all, so I returned it back to my friend. This was bought in replacement. RECARO SR3, complete with tiny cigarette burn.
  24. Okay, update time, and seeing as I've been lazy there's a LOT that has happened since my last post. I'll take it step by step. My opening post for this thread will be updated soon, I've decided to put in a bit of my history with cars as well as a little introduction to myself and what I do. I have recently finished up my internship and have started a proper job, which thankfully lets me put a little more into my car, as we all know it is not exactly a cheap hobby :P A new battery was dropped in because my old one started corroding the terminals, at the same time a HKS earthing kit as well as an Audison positive terminal was added. Will get engine bay photos soon. Quick snap circa December 2011 I have removed all the stickers bar my own "IMPULSE" one, for a cleaner look. Also the rear badge has been painted black (something I finally got around to doing) Not soon after, I found an eBay seller doing copies of the TRD sports grille, and I figured since these were getting so rare I'd take the chance and order one. It fit okay, wouldn't say perfectly, but have a look:
  25. I've also heard that the SR recaros will fit on the bride rails, Possibly ask superdave, he'd be able to confirm.
