  1. I had checked with my bridgestone dealer (liverpool, sydney) and they said they doo a free rotation every 5000, but thats all they mentioned, didn't specifically ask if they did a wheel allignment.
  2. [solved] yes it was only the fuse so far, haven't driven the car yet, but the 10A fuse was blown. I did turn the car into ACC mode and everything seemed fine. Thank you very much for your help.
  3. I'm guessing it's the fuse. Check the manual for the location of the fuse (keep forgetting which one it is) and pull it out to see if it's blown. If it is blown then there's a spare 10amp fuse on the lid of the fuse box where you will also find the tweezers to pull out the fuses. Im hoping its the fuse, good to know there is a spare fuse, was about to head out and buy one tomorrow, should check things out first aye. If it happens to be something else, can it be fixed under warranty?
  4. Might have helped if i mentioned that 90% of my driving is highway, which would be my guess as to how i squeezed 85 000 out of the originals Any idea how much more the RE002a cost?
  5. Seen a few reviews of the Primacy LC having poor to bad performance in the wet, did you see those reviews? Thanks the heads up, wet weather grip was a big factor for me... back to the drawing board... trying to find one for about 180/tyre might ask around for those kumho's. Start fresh. Set your budget. Rank the following. Wet, dry, mileage, noise, and comfort. At about $150 I see Kumho Solus KH15 for wet and Bridgestone Potenza RE001 for dry. I had the Kumho Solus KH15 before on Camry. Noisy compared to stock Michelin Vivacy. Only 18,000km mileage in the front. But has AA wet traction rating. Choice tyre comparison also had it doing well in the wet. Bridgestone Potenza RE001 is great in the dry. By my extrapolation about 40,000km mileage in the front. Thanks Tekky! Appreciate it! What type of driving do u mainly do or how much or each would you estimate.. city / highway Edit: The wear you have on the RE001s seem to be better than what alot of people ive spoken to have got, so thats good, im just trying to figure out if i can get around 60 000 out of them
  6. Its definately not the battery, because the car still starts without any hesitation, and the battery is only a year old (generally saying, but it could fail), but yeah, the key ring light doesnt illuminate and all the lights you describes also dont illuminate, but the tacho one does.. could it be a short circuit?
  7. Im having a little problem...... Was just cleaning my car, doing a general checkup etc when i noticed my dome light wasn't turning on ,then also saw that the courtesy, reading and boot light also didn't turn on, im thinking blown fuse.. however another strange thing happens, when i put the car into ACC mode and the Dash starts to illuminate, i noticed that the fuel needle rises to the full position (there is a full tank of petrol in the car atm) and then drops back to empty and rises back to the correct level, Any idea whats going on, if it is a fuse, could someone point me to the correct one? Appreciate any help!
  8. In regard to your first question, check out this thread: timing belt
  9. Seen a few reviews of the Primacy LC having poor to bad performance in the wet, did you see those reviews? I too will be looking for replacement for my 16" Prodigy soon, however I'll absolutely be wanting to change from the stock 215 width to 225, and todo so believe I need to reduce my profile from 60 to 55 - I'm fine with that. Worth the extra 10mm of width on the road! Thanks the heads up, wet weather grip was a big factor for me... back to the drawing board... trying to find one for about 180/tyre might ask around for those kumho's. Edit: Was reading up about the KU31s which have really good reviews! but one thing i noticed in a few of the con sections was "bad rim protection"... what exactly does that mean?
  10. With the cheap tool I got off ebay I measure total thread depth and depth til wear indicator and store it in excel. But I haven't measured for a while. I think it was wearing quite slowly. But I aim for a more gentle commute to work. It lost like 1mm of 6mm for 10,000 kms. But its probably not linear. At the 36month service the tires were rotated against my noted wish. I'll try to remember to measure them again. I have OEM for the boot so they couldn't have involved that in the rotation. Awesome, yeah i did abit of research aswell and for now, im going to stick with michelins, going for the primacy lc, which have got extremely good reviews online, might try them out, i can get them for $185/tyre, which seams alright Funny that, My tyres were rotated againt my wish aswell..
  11. Hey tekky, how did you find the RE001s? any idea how long they lasted you? or if you're still using them, how many k's have you done on them, and how much wear have they taken?
  12. Had a look and my date stamp on the tyres were around the time of the build date of the car, so that means with the factory michelins, ive 85 000kms out of them, which is pretty dam good. Might go with them, although the grip isnt the best.
  13. So what do you guys think? Just stick the new pads in there and see what happens? And if it does start to squeal or shudder, then machine the rotors? Edit: reason im asking is because, i was quoted $250 for machining and was thinking, for that price, i just have to put in another $150 and get 2 x 4000 series DBA rotors or even 2000 series
  14. Got a question... When i gave my car in for a service, they said the rotors need to be machined because they are a little warped. They suggested to do this before i put new pads in, which i'll have to soon, what consequences if any would arise if i were to put the pads in without machining the rotors??
  15. Saw one drive past me yesterday! Might i say, it is a damn sexy thing.
  16. If you've bought your car second hand is there any way of knowing if the tyres have been changed? Do they normally make a note of it in the logbook? because i had a quick flick through and couldn't find mention of the tyres being changed. Its currently at 82k and id bought it when it had done 35K
  17. Was never really into Prius' but this slightly excites me!
  18. So basically you want to speed without the passengers in the car seeing that you're speeding...... psh, why woud i do that? well its more of a case of them whinging, about me doing 10 k over the limit on an empty highway, can't kill me right? well more like 120 on a 110 road, which plenty of people on here do.. i know thats no excuse.. but still.
  19. Back when people had CRTs, some offices would have a tinted screen placed in front of the CRT to stop it hurting ur eyes, blah blah blah, I also noticed with that, when someone is looking at the screen from an angle, and not straight on, they cant see anything, similar to the screens on ATMs. Now when driving, especially a powerful car, its easy to get up to speeds without feeling it, how ever your passengers **** themselves when they see the speed, is there some way to put this kind of tint/film on the dash's display so that the front passenger cant see the whole cluster, or can see it faintly?
  20. Mine comes fairly close :P But the more I keep seeing that IS350 commercial... the more I want it. Can someone please post a link to the IS350 commercial, thanks. I wish lexus would atleast vary the look of their cars. They all pretty much look the same, IS250, IS350, ISF, only very minor details are different, and under the hood, but say a non car nut would be clueless!
  21. Saw a Yellow (obv paint job) pre-face aurion sportivo! That came as a big surprise, i dont know whether it was good or bad. Probably have to have a closer look, but only saw it passing by, im not sure whether i like it or not but its different, dint look too bad...no pics unfortunately, sorry.
