  1. Mechanically, engine, suspension etc they are identical so there really is no difference. Sedan is slightly lighter.
  2. If your car goes missing.... IT WAS ME! Very nice, always like the Liberty GT's.
  3. I know some of you are measuring the skirt to the ground. Has anyone measured the lowest point of the exhaust pipe to the ground?
  4. To say an s/c is best for a 2zz is a bit general. I think fitting a s/c to a 2zz in a Celica or Corolla is more ideal because of packaging/space issues under the bonnet. The positioning of an s/c makes it an easier install and also perhaps easier to maintain. But if you overcome those issues, then the choice between s/c and turbo then comes to what the owner wants. Both have their positives and negatives.
  5. I can't see anyone having had a go at CES? In fact, comments have commended the installation work carried out.
  6. When this thing goes ka-boom after the re-tune can you make sure you get those pics too
  7. The owner must be shattered.... get it? shattered! Pretty funny. We should start a thread of destroyed engine pics
  8. The biggest difference was the introduction of the electronic throttle body on later 1zz engines which can make the car feel not quite as responsive as the cable throttle models. I think some sort of egr system also came in as part of the emissions reducing upgrades. These changes are why power went down from 100kw to 93kw.
  9. That's at the flywheel. A dyno gives the figure at the wheels. When the engines power goes through the gearbox/differential/driveshafts there is a power loss. Give or take it's usually about a 20% loss.
  10. I don't think you have to worry. You get what you pay for but the other thing to remember is your Corolla has 185-190nm of torque developed high up in the rev range. Not exactly earthmoving or wheel shattering stuff. So your chances of a wheel failure due to not being strong enough to handle your cars power is nil. And a Corolla wont generate enough lateral g's in cornering to be of concern either. However put cheapies on a more powerful car, and the results a different. I don't understand why the Skyline owner above would fit such wheels to that car - especially given it's doing some track work? Just silly.
  11. There's no annual fee in VIC, just the normal rego fee once you put it on your car. But once you buy a plate you don't have to pay more after that the keep the combination. I understand in NSW you guys get seriously ripped every year for personal plates, more revenue raising I guess.
  12. What's your problem? Who's being racist? My nutsack is biggest of all FTW Chill out its just a discussion
  13. The twin towers had always been targets of terrorist attacks because it was seen to be like a symbolic strike to the heart - Take down the big and famous land mark and people will notice. They had been bombed before with far less damage. On 9/11 the terrorists worked out a way to really do damage. The design of the Twin Towers was an exoskeleton type - So the main strutural support holding the floors up was the vertical steel exterior beams rather than depending on the interior pilons only, this technique was employed at the time of building because it would make construction of the towers a quicker process. When the planes crashed into the building, they sliced through the vertical beams on the exterior, weakening the main structural integrity and then gravity did the rest. Whilst it is true that the US is oil hungry, and the Afganistan/Iraq are the result of this agenda, it also has to be remembered that there are in fact bad people in the world, who would not blink in harming someone they don't like. Monday Morning in Melbourne CBD anyone?
  14. What do you mean by porous? Were they replaced?
  15. That's interesting and makes sense. Do you find there are particular designs that are more prone to breaking? For example, do you see it more on 1 piece 5 spoke wheels or is it just anything and everything? I often look at my ROH wheels and think those 10 thin spokes are having to withstand alot of force.
  16. Not a figure to be unhappy with at all. Nicely done. Are you using the airbox still? Or are you using some sort of intake with the s/c kit?
  17. How about we all stay on topic... Judging by the response you got from the person at Castle Hill - giving you the link to the USA website, he is making it up as he goes to simply make a sale. Just keep in mind it is extremely unlikely to cause damage due to the CAI, but, if something goes wrong and you have touched the engine in any way possible, they can deny the claim. It's your decision, don't go by what the staff at the dealership says (As they are only salespeople with targets).
  18. Dont dismiss the 3mps, they seem to do great lap times at winton and it's a direct competitor to a Golf GTi so the price is right I suppose. We are yet to see any nicely done or hot versions of the new Corolla. And 16" wheels and 4x4 suspension never win over a young market. So someone do one up already so we can see how they can really look :P I wasn't a great fan of the look of the zze122 front end, but I still bought one anyway. Also remember, this new model will be much improved in its refinement and the way it drives, so the truth on wether or not if it is a good car will be in the drive.
  19. My black twin at East Malvern Station
  20. Are you referring to the one below the radiator? Yes I don't have one. The only reason I can see some models have this is kind of like people installing the upper radiator shround or cooling panel - to ensure more air is diverted into the radiator. I really dont think there's any sort of adverse effect in removing this.
  21. What sort of Dyno do they use at Protech? Was Omn1potent using 95Ron?
  22. Hmm 10k for 150kw ATW sound like money well spent.... not.
  23. saw the car again today, I was mistaken, it was a Yaris sedan... You Stooge :P
  24. Hmm Rambo influenced by 300?
  25. Cool. Reminds me of this...
